Last minute booking on a Saturday night. Had heard good reviews and as a friend was over from Canada, decided this was the time to go and give it a try. Walking in,lovely welcome and festive setting. We decided our table wasn't to our liking and the lovely waiter moved us the another more to our preference. What a fantastic choice... More

A traditional pub with contemporary themes. Warm friendly welcome, fed up with pubs offering only Turkey, so a pleasant change to see Goose on the menu. Downside was Lunch was a set menu, with pretty much everything overseasoned. Would have preferred a choice as one of the starters was so garlicky it was inedible. As a non-chocolate lover the dessert... More

We have been meaning to visit here for a long time after having heard from friends how good it was. This is pub food at its best, locally sourced, fresh seasonal ingredients and cooked and presented in a wonderful way incorporating Mediterranean flavours and influences.. The waiter recommended a reasonable bottle of Italian red and we would definitely have that... More

A lovely find when I arranged to meet a friend here for dinner. On a cold and dark evening we were greeted by a roaring fire and friendly staff. The setting, service and food were fantastic. The scallops were to die for and the main was delicious. They have an excellent wine list, but unfortunately I was driving so only... More

We've eaten here several times, both as a couple and as a family. Last time was a larger family birthday party. Food is always lovely and living in Spain we love the Spanish twists, not to mention the Spanish wines. Try one of the Albarinos if you want a lovely white. Service is always good and we think the food... More

You step into an old Dickensian Ale House as you enter this star restaurant with the atmosphere to match. As it was a totally miserable November day, we were lucky to have the table by the fire and after a glass of recommended excellent House White wine, spirits are raised to meet the culinary delights. The menu is a total... More

This is a fantastic gastro pub. The menu is really interesting with some unusual items on the starter, main course and sweet menu. All cooked exceptionally well and presented beautifully. Well worth a visit and reasonably priced. Go on spoil yourself!

This was our 7 or 8th visit to The Purefoy. Its just one of those places you book with no apprehension. It was a Birthday lunch for 2 and we were given a really nice cosy table by the fire, a really nice thought on a dank dull day. Anton greeted us with a smile and his fabulous engaging personality... Brought a voucher for lunch from the Internet as we hadn't visited for several years and knew it had changed hands. Wow! Food menu was most interesting. Our three course meal was delightful. All the food was amazing in quality, ingredients and presentation. Staff were brilliant and we were even treated to our glass of wine as someone had seated... More

We were "walk-ins" one Wednesday lunchtime and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was good although not over special so we had the special of venison pie which needed a bit more veg. Overall though a nice restaurant
