I wont go into the detail of what we ate but it was simply superb. Spanish theme. One of the best meals I've eaten in the world. Wonderful service, great timing and perfect knowledge of what we were eating. More expensive than the indicative pricing. Who's going to look for Preston Candover?

My wife and I dined here yesterday evening for our wedding anniversary; we were thinking of trying JSW and The Black Rat, however, my wife booked Purefoy as a surprise. It didn't disappoint. My wife is vegetarian so the waiter explained what was available on the menu and what could be done off menu which was great and provided a... More

I don't usually review an eatery after the first visit unless one, it is exceptional, or two, it is abominoble. From the five stars I gave it one can guess which it is on this occasion. I look at all three things when I eat out - the service, the food and the ambience. I won't say that the ambience... More

What an amazing place. From the minute you walk into the minute you leave you know this place is special. Friendly and attentive front of house team, creative menus, excellent wine list and wonderful food. It's hard to believe this is near Basingstoke!

Today was our 2nd visit to the Purefoy in as many weeks and yet again it surpassed all of our expectations. A friendly welcome from knowledgable and informative staff with food that is simply brilliant and leaves you looking forward to your next visit. The smoked haddock rarebit and salted caramel mousse were to die for although my husband insists... More

Had a lovely meal with friends and their young boys. Really friendly team made for excellent service. Relaxed atmosphere and delicious roast rib of beef, followed by great desserts. Very flexible on children's portions or if they wanted anything particular. The Icecream list almost pulled me away from my salted caramel moose in a bitter chocolate brownie... 😃 we had... More

We received a very warm welcome from the friendly and knowledgable staff. We had drinks and a portion of the superb pork crackling as a canapé at the bar whilst we ordered from the imaginative Spanish themed menu. The Smoked Eel and Duck Egg with Aparagus was well presented and excellent. This was served with an excellent Albariño Wine recommended... More

As my old Mum had offered to pay for lunch we were already in a good mood when we arrived, nothing that happened whilst at the Purefoy Arms did anything to spoil that! We were also lucky to bag a terrace table looking onto the garden on a beautiful day. As said in other reviews, the menu was imaginative and... More

Another lovely trip to The Purefoy, for once it didn’t rain and we were able to have a drink in the pretty garden after our meal (and enjoy the happy dogs romping around). Although it was a little busier than normal due to a wedding being held at the church opposite, we were not forgotten and staff kept checking we... More
