Excellent

We were a group of four and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our food, wine and evening. The staff work extremely hard at keeping all patrons happy and at getting food and drink served in harmony. We will definitely be back! Well done guys your hard work is paying.

We visited the Purefoy Arms on a Travel Zoo voucher, this establishment is local to us. I started with the Wild Mushroom Parfait and my husband had the Salted Cod, both dishes were delicious. For the main I had Fish & Chips and my husband the Butchers Steak, again both dishes were faultless, the chips on both dishes were to... More

We recently had a superb lunch at the Purefoy Arms. It was our first visit so we weren't too sure what to expect but we had heard the food was of a very good standard, so hopes were high & we weren't disappointed. The menu is quite varied & we found an interesting range of choices. The portions aren't overly... More

We visited for lunch on a Wednesday and found the double dining-room pub well attended. Since we were a bit early I ordered some home-made bread with a small bowl of olive oil as a dip. There were three breads: white, Manchego and walnut - all very tasty, as was the oil. My starter was 'chalk stream trout rillettes, avocado... More

Oh if only every pub was as good as this. The Purefoy Arms at Preston Candover is between Arlesford and Basingstoke and positioned in beautiful countryside. Lovely motorcycling roads in the area and this makes a wonderful stop for an easy lunch. The menu has many tempting options and indicates the chef/proprietor's love of local produce, curing and generally good... More

I can understand well why you need to book in advance as this former Pub now restaurant is sublime and well worth the wait. The food was excellent I can recommend the Parsnip Veloute and the Haddock and Chips were probably the best I have ever sampled. I will be returning soon as I would rate this as just as... More

You don't see that many people having halves these days. I don't know if the size of a half-pint glass - especially that of a half-pint beer mug - is somehow a bit too prissy for a bloke to be seen with, but they just aren't much in evidence any more. Yet there are times when a half can come... More

Thank you to all for making our visit on Thursday a very enjoyable dinner. Only one little complaint is the Orzo Rose veal dish was over cooked and it makes the dish slightly gloopy just 5 minutes cooking would have been sufficient, the veal that was with the Orzo Risotto was succulent according to my husband and my steak was... My husband and I have eaten at the Purefoy Arms before and were impressed by the Spanish twist and the efforts of the staff. As the restaurant is quite a way from home, today we decided to have a walk around the countryside before eating. We were accompanied by friends. The staff were very obliging and we started with bread... More

Having bought the Travelzoo voucher for this venue back in November 2014, when today, March 13th 2015, we could not find the said voucher I was truly concerned. Having returned from a shakedown cruise on P & O's new cruise liner Britannia, I thought a lovely 3 course lunch at the Purefoy Arms would finish the trip nicely. Thankfully, we... More
