What an absolutely wonderful restaurant. The staff are so welcoming and helpful, as soon as you walk through the door you're made to feel special and welcome. And as for the food, wow. I was taken here for my birthday dinner, as a surprise. Warm welcome as we entered the pub. Good service from a friendly, amusing, knowledgeable waiter. Very different menu, with a Spanish influence, good choice of wine. The plaice with parmesan crust and the stuffed squid were excellent. Not the place to go to if you want standard pub grub... More

8 of my family dined at the purefoy, it was one of our best family meals out in many years. Even my dear granny enjoyed it who is 92. The food is British with Spanish twists I would say, the service was so friendly and the price was reasonable considering the quality of the food. The food though was the... More

Visited a few weeks ago for Sunday lunch. Was very pleasant but I feel that the quality of the roast did not match the regular menu. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Interesting menu for starters.Main dishes were very over priced although the scollops were delicious ,the turbot the size of a fish finger was dry and over cooked.(Rick Stein turbot larger and superb)Long intervals between courses.Pleasant enough staff and good ale and lager, also wine list adequate. We were not that impressed over all.

We visited the Purefoy Arms one blustery evening which was nice as the fire was on and the atmosphere was cosy and warm. Originally i found it hard to find something on the menu as it was quite fancy. Each item, although it sounded lovely, was very different to the 'norm'. The food itself was exquisite & the service was... More

Five of us celebrated my father-in-law's birthday at the Purefoy Arms. He doesn't do 'fancy' but having been here several times before, we knew what to expect. At least we thought we did but they simply outdid themselves on this occasion. Starters were excellent - mushroom parfait with brioche, mould of mussels, fresh season asparagus with crab and the tapas... More

We ate at the Purefoy whilst staying in Hampshire. It was a bit of a trek (25 minutes), but absolutely worth the trip and a very beautiful drive at sunset. The restaurant is dripping in local charm with very friendly staff and excellent food. A mix of locals and visitors. Definitely worth the trip.

We went as a family over the weekend. Perfect ambience, great food and good service. The place was busy, considering it was a weekend but the waiter, Florian was witty and excellent. starters were great and the meat was cooked to perfection. Even the vegetarian dishes were good. The desserts were superb. All in all it was a perfect end... More

My last visit of four was the least successful. A small portion of Catalan tomato bread at £4 and a dish of Gordal olives at £3.50 seemed excessive. Starters served in miserly portions were unmemorable except for the price, averaging £7-£8. Worst of all, having ordered the Black Angus rib (£52 for two) we were not asked how we wanted... More
