Fantastic Sunday lunch

Five of us celebrated my father-in-law's birthday at the Purefoy Arms. He doesn't do 'fancy' but having been here several times before, we knew what to expect. At least we thought we did but they simply outdid themselves on this occasion. Starters were excellent - mushroom parfait with brioche... read more

We ate at the Purefoy whilst staying in Hampshire. It was a bit of a trek (25 minutes), but absolutely worth the trip and a very beautiful drive at sunset. The restaurant is dripping in local charm with very friendly staff and excellent food. A mix of locals and visitors. Definitely worth the trip.

We went as a family over the weekend. Perfect ambience, great food and good service. The place was busy, considering it was a weekend but the waiter, Florian was witty and excellent. starters were great and the meat was cooked to perfection. Even the vegetarian dishes were good. The desserts were superb. All in all it was a perfect end... More

My last visit of four was the least successful. A small portion of Catalan tomato bread at £4 and a dish of Gordal olives at £3.50 seemed excessive. Starters served in miserly portions were unmemorable except for the price, averaging £7-£8. Worst of all, having ordered the Black Angus rib (£52 for two) we were not asked how we wanted... More

Booked a table for two at seven thirty . We arrived and were offered a choice of two tables and ordered drinks . They have a lovely pint of purefoy bitter. We had olives and mixed flavours of bread appetisers and it was all beautifully presented , fresh and tasty . The menu is set for the month as they... More

Fantastic food, service efficient and friendly, would highly recommend. Can be very busy at weekends so advisable to book, mid week lunch very well priced. Tapas starters superb.

As it was my birthday, we decided to just go for a drive and see where we ended up. By chance, we ended up here, and what's decision! From the moment I walked in to check on the accessibility for my disabled husband, to the last chat before we left, the staff were fantastic. As for the predominantly Spanish menu,... More

We had not expected such quality - and a great variety of flavours. We grazed on Tapas for an hour or so, had a main course (try the Lambs tongues) and a sweet or two. Service was quick and effortless. The final bill was a little high but after considering what we ate, we weren't surprised. Full marks to all... More

had a fantastic rib of beef for two after great starters, wine list is interesting & varied. More limited menu of mains on a Sunday than rest of the week was a minor disappointment, along with failure of dessert wine to arrive.

What a treat. We received a warm welcome in what on the outside looked like a rural pub but inside provided an evening of Spanish flavour (and music). An exciting menu of unusual dishes (I had a venison terrine, and my husband a trout mousse to start). It was a difficult menu to choose from - so many tantalising dishes.... More
