A very nice chocolate shop in the heart of Perugia

I had the chance to visit the shop located in via Pinturicchio (near the University for Foreigners) so my note concerns only that shop, not the other in via Bonazzi, that I had not the chance to visit. The shop specialises in chocolates and ice cream, and it is really worth a visit ! Several... read more

We originally went to Cioccolateria Augusta Perusia to buy some chocolates as a gift for friends, but the gelato was just too tempting to pass up. I had a cone with cioccolato fondente and cassata, and my wife had one with cioccolato-amarena (chocolate-cherry) and lemon. The flavors were all incredible! Possibly the best chocolate gelato we have ever tasted. The... More

This gelateria is also cioccolateria, the sign says all products made in house, so I had some expectation to the fullness of the taste of the chocolate ice cream. I was not disappointed. And the other ice cream types we had were just as wow. If we ever go back to Perugia we'll revisit.

Had the chocolate & peach gelato which were outstanding. Its a hike to find this place. I wish I had seen the one on the main Corso. Having said that, I wasn't disappointed.

This is a tiny shop with an impressive display of ice cream and chocolates The lady running it is very accommodating and allowed us to sample lots of ice cream and chocolate before we bought some The ice creams are very good with a good variety of choices from fruit sorbets to the usual Italian ice cream flavours The chocolates... You may want to visit the new location just off the main Corso; we walked pretty far for this one! it's good. I recommend the lemon and chocolate. It was not as good as I expected, and did not seem as artiginiale as many of the real home-made gelatos that I've had. There are new some new gelato places like... More

Wonderful, delicious, exquisite gelato! One of the best we've ever had during our repetitive visits to Italy. Dark chocolate and nocciola were truly amazing.

Truly, the best chocolate I've ever had! There are two locations. The one in town has amazing chocolates--especially hot chocolate. The other one, which is a bit off the beaten path, has the most amazing dark chocolate gelato ever.

This review is for August 2013 which was our most recent visit, but we've been going to this place for more than 10 years now and it never disappoints. The quality of the gelato, especially pistachio, dark chocolate and hazelnut, is amazing, and has remained constant over the years. The chocolates are excellent too, as other reviewers have mentioned, but... More
