After a hard days trip out in Umbrian sunshine on a Sunday had forgotten that many restos closed Sun pm .But Jenny remembered having seen this atmospheric place tucked away under Porta Pesa. It did not disappoint. The roast shoulder of pork stuffed with chestnuts was a winner, the starter of mixed bruschetta also very good red Montefalco. We didn't... More

This osteria is regularly featured in Slow Food publications as one of the best places to eat in Perugia, and the place stays true to all ratings.

I went here with a group from school. The chef taught us how to make pasta and let us help! It was delicious. In addition to the pasta we made, which he put an Umbrian pork sauce on and a veggie one for the vegetarians, we had great appetizers like bread with cheese and mushrooms, a rice and lentil dish,... We had a decent mixed antipasti for two but the main courses of stinco di maiale and braciola di maiale were unbelievable. Some of the best pork I've ever had. The only disappointment was a lack of side dish options but maybe they had stuff off-menu. Service was good too.

Following a recommendation from a local, we tried out this restuarant. Not only cosy and charming, the service was excellent with a lovely varity of original local delights. Beautifully cooked with and served by a staff who delight in preparing good food. So good we had to return the following night

Ate dinner here on a rainy Saturday evening. Just outside the city walls by Porta Pesa, but a gentle ten-minute stroll from the cathedral down the winding Via Bontempi off Piazza Piccinino. I have to say that I didn't notice any obvious tourist traps in Perugia (restaurant-wise) but, if there were, I agree with previous reviewers that this would be... More

After you pass through the center of town and skip all the Ristoranti touting a fixed price Menu Turistico, you will find La Lumera on Corso Bersaglieri. It is well worth the excursion. The day we arrived, the town was filled with Chocoholics indulging in every manner of chocolate product one can imagine. Since it was lunch time, every trattoria... More

We found this restaurant near our hotel (Hotel Perusia). We didn't notice it at first until we heard voices and saw some tables down the alleyway at the side. We sat at a table in the alleyway because it was too hot to sit inside. We were greeted by the chef who made us very welcome. The food was excellent... More

We (5)have just returned from Italy after a 2 week holiday. The meal we had at this resturant was the best food we had in the 2 weeks. Excellent. The service was also very friendly.
