My hotel, Hotel Priori, across the street, recommended this place when I arrived late and tired one Friday night. Wow!! The casual recommendation turned out to be one of the best restaurants ever, anywhere, on every level. I ate here 3 days in a row. It specializes in local cuisine also in terms of locally sourced foods and I ate... More

My wife and I ate here twice in August, the first night they managed to squeeze us in upstairs without a booking, great local fare at very reasonable prices. We decided, after our meal at La taverna, to eat here again for our last night in Perugia. We ate downstairs next to their fantastic stock of wine, with a thunderstorm... More

Following positive feedback we resolved to eat here. We turned up at 7.30 on a Wednesday night in October to be told they were fully booked. Quickly we booked for Friday whilst they found us another restaurant to eat in and whistled up a taxi. On our return on Friday we appeared to be the only strangers in the place... More

We can only presume that the restaurant are writing their own reviews. After reading those on Tripadvisor we made a bee line for A Priori. We tried four different menu options. Ech unfortunetly was very poor. My wifes chicken was similar to that you would find in a poor chip shop. My authentic Umbrian soup had a distinctly worrying flavour.... More

We were in Perugia for a week and had both lunchand dinner at Osteria a Priori. There were no misses from any of our selections with the true standouts being an antipasti plate with cheeses, salami and other cured meats, a pasta dish with dark chocolate, scrambled eggs with black truffles, and an extremely light and mouthwatering Italian cheesecake topped... We were so happy about our lunch meal at Osteria A PRIORI 2 weeks ago that we decided to have dinner there the same day as well - and we didn't regret it. there just were too many interesting items on the menu we were unable to try at lunch:) lucky we got a table, because as we ate dinner,... More

What a special find. In a place that is all about food, this restaurant stands out. The staff are exceptionally attentive and can assist with the menu if you are not fluent in Italian. The food, course by course, unfolds, each to its own. Loved our evening here and loved the food as well as the experience. Very Umbrian. Delicious.

On the advice of our hotel we had an excellent dinner here on two occasions. They started out trading wines, and added the restaurant later. The restaurant looks simple and unassuming, the food is excellent. I believe it is mostly if not completely organic. I had a mouth-watering starter; five slices of different types of Pecorino cheese, two different paté's,... More

Superb..Excellent..Fantastic...We are running out of words to describe how good the food was. Top quality and excellent value for money. We did not have reservation. However we arrived at the restaurant and sat near the kitchen. We could see that every meal was individually prepared. We had their business lunch which was €9 each. It was unbelievable good value and... More

Osteria a Priori provides very good value for superior cooking. Starters of two kinds of liver and cheese and pasta with pecorino, prosciutto and courgettes were both excellent. Our mains both involved beautifully slow-cooked meat: lamb with roast potatoes and chicken flavoured with aniseed and served with spinach and torta al testa - both very impressive. The only disappointment was... More
