A restaurant for the locals off the beaten track near to Perugia. My partner and I dined here on a Monday evening - and it was very busy with many locals, including clearly many regulars. The menu is only in Italian, but Stella, the owner, took time to translate each item on the menu for us and to make her... More

What a find! From the moment you arrive you're made to feel welcome. Sylvia was extremely helpful with the menu and explaining about the local foods and seafood. We could not have been more pleased with her and the passion she has for her food. This is the place to go for a taste of local Umbrian cuisine. Try the... More

While staying at Castello di Monterone, we looked for an alternative for dinner, and this spot jumped out at us from Trip Advisor. What a great treat! Mostly filled with Italians, the proprietress looked after us kindly and efficiently, explaining the menu to us and ensuring we were all happy and full, including our vegetarian daughter. The food was carefully... More

We found this restaurant thanks to the Trip Advisor app on my wife's i-Pad because it was just around the corner from the Castelle de Monterone where we were staying. It's several kilometres out of Perugia in the tiny village of Casaglia. Despite being off the tourist trail, we were delighted to discover that the food was of the highest... More

We ate here while staying at the nearby Castello di Monterone. It is under the somewhat seedy looking hotel of the same name, but the restaurant is quite attractive. Although we arrived at 7:30 and they do not open until 8:00, we were seated with courtesy and we ordered a bottle of wine to sip while we waited. They have... More

A very varied menu excellently described by the owner who speaks good English. She is a devotee of slow food which is freshly cooked Local dishes we tried were little fried fish and carp from lake trasimeno. The owner was very knowledgeable about where all the local produce came from. A vast wine list. Wide range of languages spoken. Amuse... More

Stella Ristorante Vineria is fabulous! Even though it is not in the Perugia city center, it is only 5 minutes away by car or bus (bus to Casaglia is all you need to know). Go to Stella and you will enjoy a wonderful experience. First of all, the owner is friendly and welcoming. She speaks Italian (of course), German, English... More

We ended up at Stella quite by accident when we couldn't find the Gnocchi Sagra in a nearby neighbourhood. What a treasure -- we all loved it. From the Saffron Risotto to the White Coffee ice cream, every dish was a delight. The owners were very helpful with the menu. He speaks Italian, Polish and German while her English is... More

We ate here while staying in Perugia on our honeymoon. We just saw the sign and decided to give it a try (after reading reviews on TripAdvisor). Not speaking Italian, we were fortunate enough to have the owner come over and help us through the menu. She walked us through the entire menu and made recommendations that were simply delicious....
