Ristorante di Porta Tessenaca - Fantastic

This restaurant was one of the best we visited on our trip. In Gubbio this was tied with another place as the best we had. Food here is excellent with a service to match. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable about both food and wines. Well furnished seating area and lovely atmosphere. Would... read more

On our Umbria tour last day we had the luck to enter by chance (at 15:00) this restaurant. We were the only people in the beautiful downstairs well furnitured room. We enjoyed an excellent service and the dishes we selected from the antipasti/primi/secondi/dolci menu were delicious and attractive. It was our pleasure to say good bye to Umbria's gourmet this... If you are in Gubbio, looking for amazing food, amazing service and amazing ambiance this is the place. Chef Ignazio is behind the scenes preparing amazing food - his personal touch and commitment to careful preparation with the highest quality of ingredients is evident in every dish. We were served by Elina and Damiano in our separate visits - both... More

We have been twice in one week which we rarely do but this restaurant is so deserving of repeated visits. A beautiful setting with vaulted brick ceilings, service from Alena that was extremely attentive as well as excellent suggestions of food and wine combined with the most exquisite food from chief Ignazio make this restaurant one of our favorites worldwide.

Quite a large restaurant but with a very nice separate terrace. Good Umbrian food and wine. The waiter was especially helpful with an explanation of regional dishes and local wines. A very enjoyable dining experience

We only had a snack lunch here, but it was deicate and beautifully prepared. A deep fried courgette flower filled with riccota cheese, really special. Lovely service too.

We came accross this restaurant by chance while walking round Gubbio. The upstairs entrance is deceptive as it looks like an ordinary cafe. However, the restaurant is downstairs and full of character (it would appear to be a medieval grain store) and tastefully decorated. Service is very good and an excellent wine list. Certainly not a tourist trap and well... More

Having only one night in Gubbio my wife and I were keen to find some good food and I think we hit the jackpot! The dining room, is a beautifully restored high-vaulted cellar beneath what was once the town house of the son of Federico, Duke of Urbino whose Palazza is on the hill above. The food was just as... Although Gubbio is famous for its panoramic views over the Umbrian countryside, this restaurant in the vaulted and attractive cellars of an ancient building has no view but it does have excellent cuisine. We only tried the pasta dishes which contained some tantalising combinations - gorgonzola with shrimp, melon and something unexpected - but the restaurant is clearly a cut... More

We enjoyed a good fish menu - antipasti and secondo - friends tried the pasta as well ... The atmosphere, service and overall experience was very nice. It is a little dated in the decor and a bit too formal for many...but all in all we enjoyed the meal and the food was tasty and nicely presented. Wines are quite... More
