The service is good and this place has a unique atmosphere. The food is amazing and they do have gluten free options.

We stumbled accross thrice pizzeria in Assisi after failing to find our way to Perugia! The pizzas were straightforward thin and well cooked. We ate in a room that had Evidence of Roman walls and floor (below glass) which made the meal very interesting.

Went there for lunch and the pizzeria was closed. My friend ordered the hamburger and I had the carbonara with asparagus. We shared a supposedly large rocket salad. The place was nice and quiet, away from the crowd. Had a medieval feel to it. When the food came, we realised hamburger came with no buns but had fries on the... More

This pizza place is abit off the beaten path down to the left as you head toward the basilica de san Francesco. When you walk in you are walking down into a completely stone building with a feel that this place has been around for a long time. We found this place by accident on our last trip and searched... We went on a Saturday night. It wasn't very crowded because most tourists don't stay for dinner. Pizza was amazing. We had the Suprema and the Rustica. Both were absolutely incredible. You should absolutely go. Also, ask to be seated on the glass floor so you can admire the excavations!

I'm a lover of pizza and I still dream the dinner I had in Assisi at Menestrello; it has probably been the best pizza I've had so far. Moreover, the service was fast: it only took about 15 minutes to have four pizzas. It was great! Great, great, great!

Took a group of people for a meal and an evening at this restaurant. The food was wonderful, great antipasti and a huge selection of pizzas. The drinks menu was great and very reasonably priced. But the highlight of the evening were the 4 young students from the assisi school of medieval music who entertained us with period music with... More

We spent three days and two nights in Assisi. The pizza at Il Menestrello is quite simply ... Amazing!!! This is by far the best pizza we have had since arriving in Italy last week. I had the mushroom and sausage in red sauce. My husband had the prosciutto. They were delicious!!! We had the classic thin crust, baked to... More

I wanted to try the local pasta dish so ordered it here, the strangozzi. a bit too much sauce maybe, but the pasta was lovely, with which I ordered the grilled vegetables. I presumed it would be the normal courgettes and aubergines, but also there were grilled chicory and whole mushrooms, all sprinkled with herbes/olive oil and served hot, pure... More
