Reasonably priced good food

For a restaurant so close to the main thoroughfare it was well priced. Substantially sized pizzas. Which for young children you may want to consider one between two. Staff only know a little English but nonetheless do their very best to help. Would def re-visit should I return to Assisi

Definitely a good place to have lunch in Assisi! We ordered the pizza and it was one of the best we've had in our two weeks in Italy. We ordered the fried zucchini and it was ok. We had the truffle salad and it was excellent!!! We had 2 kinds of pizza, both ok!

Not an easy or obvious find, as it is tucked in a little alley off the main drag. The Pizzas are huge, and all freshly baked. Unless you're very hungry you could easily share one between two people. Also the choice is massive, there must be 50 or 60 different pizzas to choose from. It isn't just a pizza place... More

Delightful restaurant down a side alley way. The cook was nice enough to customize a pizza for us, ham with a fried egg in the center. It was great ! The staff is very pleasant answering any questions you might have about the menu. We also had great salads for lunch there too. Beautiful interior stone arches throughout, great experience... More

We ate here and enjoyed it a lot. The pizza was very well made and the staff were lovely. The good - food quality (plenty of Italian guests) - staff (who spoke English), friendly and knowledgable about their menu - location just off the main square but tucked away down a little alley - Roman remains inside the restaurant. Interesting... More

Great pizza, the best we had outside of Rome. Good atmosphere, attentive waiting staff, beautiful Roman remains (behind glass) inside the restaurant. In a side street off the main street in Assisi. The restaurant was recommended by our hotel and I would highly recommend to others. Good value.

We had a great dinner at Il Menestrello. We had melon and raw ham for starters, great pizza for mains (Pizza Funghi and Pizza Quatro Fromaggi) and delicious Millefoglie and Tiramisu for dessert. Topped of with espresso. And of course we had water and wine with this great pizza dinner.

Came here after lunch was closed but the owners took pity on weary travelers and opened the kitchen for us. How nice! Serving traditional wood-fired pizzas, thin crust, fairly large and also gluten-free pizza which was a blessing for my partner. Prawns are now my new favorite topping.

There is no outdoor seating at this restaurant, but the interior is a wonderful antique space with stone arches and barrel vaulted ceilings. Service was efficient and professional. We enjoyed our time here, but the food just lacked personality. We split a Roman style 'Boscaiola' pizza that lacked flavor where no element really stood out. The salads were large but... More

Medieval ambience with mediocre food. Went for lunch and veal was very fatty and not well prepared or presented, a slightly sweet gravy trying to help its taste. Roasted potatoes were more like large roasted fries, poorly seasoned and been sitting too long prior to serving. Pork chop adequate with a green salad consisting of only one ingredient - washed...
