We visited the old Baccanale Cafe, now called Hosteria Nova. New because it has added a full kitchen. No longer just a wine bar (as we were told), it now boasts pasta and meat dishes to complement its delicious antipasti. We enjoyed a meat and cheese plate from Umbria that was exceptional along with local wine. It was a slow... More

My husband and I had breakfast and coffee here and the place was so charming! One of our favorite things to do is to sit at a cute cafe, have coffee, and talk. This place was exactly what we were looking for. We went pretty early in the morning and there were not many people there. Unfortunately our Italian is... More

Wonderful cafe on a quiet street in Assisi. We enjoyed breakfast here twice - delicious apricot muffins, cream croissants and cappuccino. It's pet friendly which is a huge bonus in our book. Pasquale not only called a cab for us, but walked us to our meeting point and made sure we departed without complication. Extremely welcoming and cozy place for... More

I write this review in english, even if I'm italian, because I want to reach all. Had lunch in this typical and charming place by chance, only because my husband had a good feeling looking inside. If you are looking for a place where italian tastes are still authentic and genuine, drink very good wine and talk to people who... More

We dropped in to buy supplies for a walking trip to Spello. The proprietor could not have been more helpful. Panini were beautifully prepared, wrapped and presented in a condition to survive the walk. An accompanying bottle of wine was suggested. Apparently there is self catering accommodation attached to the establishment. We will certainly give this a try on our... More

What a treat to stumble on this inviting and warm cafe on the east side of Assisi! The family is very friendly, especially to this American who speaks very little Italian. The panini sandwiches are filling and the wifi is excellent. It feels homey, yet up to date all at the same time. Subdued lighting and comfortable tables arranged in... More

My husband and I were in Assisi recently and staying in La Rocca hotel. On the way back from the bus stop we stumbled on this--well its a mix of many things--bar,cafe a place to but wine and food and an vehicle for displaying art. The family who run it are friendly and the food, wine and beer are very... More

I've lived in Assisi for years. I've had coffees at most of the local bars/cafes. I've sitten outside in piazzas sipping frothy cappuccino and creamy macchiato. I've enjoyed pannini and pastries. I've been impressed often but often not consistently impressed. Now that seems to have changed. Pasquale and Debra, a lovely and friendly couple, have opened the Baccanale Cafe near... More
