Nice atmosphere and it was evident that a lot of people read about it in Rick Steve's book ( only 4 different families in here and 3 were American). I have a tortellini in white sauce with sausage that was adequate but for me, nothing extra special. My husband had a local dessert cake (Known from Spoleto I think) that... More

I have lived in the area for many years and Da Erminio is a place I love. This gem, tucked away on a side street in the upper part of town, has been run by the same family for 60 years - yes, 60! - and these people clearly love what they do. They offer classic Umbrian fare and the... More

We used Rick Steve's recommendation to find this restaurant. Glad we had a dinner here on 4 October 2014. The food was very good, had a nice bottle of Italian wine, in a pleasant dining room. If you plan to eat here in the regular season make a reservation as this restaurant is very popular. The early crowd is primarily... More

I asked a local for a lunch suggestion as my go-to restaurant was closed on Wednesday. He told me to go to "Erminio" by San Rufino. I was planning to eat light but changed my mind when I saw the wood burning hearth in the main dining room. I watched as the Mamma (I'm guessing the owner) grilled my lamb... More

Enjoyed a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The pasta was done to perfection, the salads were fresh and crisp, the grilled meat outstanding. The staff were courteous and friendly. Not the typical tourist menu. Priced right. Wanted to return on our last evening in Assisi but they are closed Thursday.

We went here on a Rick Steve's recommendation and decided to have the tasting menu, per his recommendation. Worst food in Italy we have ever had. The first course was a grilled piece of bread with olive oil.......umm, ok. We have had that before. The amount of salt they used was over the top though. Second course was supposed to... More

We had dinner here on an August evening. This location was listed in the always reliable Slow Food "Guida alle Osterie d'Italia" so we had high expectations. We ended up eating well, although perhaps not memorably so. The cuisine is local and simple, which pretty much always means... pretty good! The appetizers and pasta were good although not memorable. I... More
