We had dinner here on an August evening. This location was listed in the always reliable Slow Food "Guida alle Osterie d'Italia" so we had high expectations. We ended up eating well, although perhaps not memorably so. The cuisine is local and simple, which pretty much always means... pretty good! The appetizers and pasta were good although not memorable. I... More

Locals eat here! Recommended by the hotel owners. Kitchen grill is inside the trattoria. Beautiful meat very tasty. Homemade dessert! All served with a smile.

It's a climb up to the restaurant, above the church of S Ruffino. Worth the climb though. Friendly, very Italian, thoroughly recommended by our taxi driver too, we went there twice during our stay. Traditional food, cooked over open fire. Some outside seating. Gets quite busy, not very touristy.

This was a real find. It is close to our apartment at Il Turrione so came up in local trip advisor search. The two male servers have good English and menus in English so easy. The mother cooks on a grill to side of restaurant in full view. This adds to the atmosphere of a home cooked meal. A menu... More

We were returning to this restaurant after enjoying it two years ago; it was just as good. It's such a hospitable place - a joy to find in the midst of so many 'tourist traps' that you can end up in when travelling. We ate here twice in 3 days, should have gone 3 times! Delicious grilled meat and excellent... More

Love this restaurant in Assisi. The atmosphere, frendliness and warmth - literally an open hearth where they prepare the bruschetta. My waiter was bow-tied "Frederigo" (3rd generation). Antipasti of bruschetta and prosciutto (cut right off the bone) and olio. Then Tagllitella noodles with "bacon" nibbles, tomato, etc. finally a classic dish with rabbit perfectly prepared. Locals were here, animated discussion,... More

They have the loveliest fireplace in the dining area on which they cook the most tasty sausages! The prices are very reasonable and the service was impeccable.

My sister-in-law from Tokyo and I were spending several days in Assisi and found this restaurant in a Rick Steves guidebook. Getting there was a bit of an adventure, walking along twisting, narrow lanes and finally coming upon this tiny little place. We chose to sit outside although there was more room in the inside but it was a lovely... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our tour guide who lives in Assisi. It is quite a climb up the road past the cathedral, but worth it. The restaurant has a large dining room with an arched ceiling - very spacious. There is an open charcoal grill in one corner and grilled meats are a speciality. There are lots of... More

If you're looking for authentic Umbrian cuisine in a small medieval square away from the noise and nonsense of the main tourist drag, then look no farther than Trattoria da Erminio. My wife and I ate here in August 2013 on the advice of a local and we were not disappointed. Let's face it-- most restaurants in main tourist squares... More
