Above average Umbrian trattoria

Firstly to debunk a recent review which mentioned bruschetta with olive oil and garlic. Costs €1.50 and is typical of the area. Why choose it? Then the idea that the meat is not fresh. It is all locally sourced and most cooked over an open wood fire. We have been once or twice a year for several... read more

We had lunch at Trattoria da Ermino during our recent trip to Tuscany. It is located up the hill away from the center of Assisi and as a result it wasn`t very touristy. We started with hand carved prosciutto on garlic toast and finished with gnocchi with duck sauce. Both dishes were amazing and very tasty and the service was... More

Fantastic trattoria! I hope to get back there for another meal one day. The food was just excellent, and the service very nice. It's relaxed - feels like a family-owned place with a sense of intimacy. And again, the food was fantastic: simple and authentic with the freshest ingredients. Incredibly affordable too.

The place was mentioned in our guidebook as a local place. It seems pretty local but as everywhere else in Assisi tourists are there as well. The food was very good, fresh, Tuscan. I had the ravioli and my other half had the fici I believe. Both very good. It's on a quite alley, out of the tourist path. I'd... More

I had the Bruschetta Tartufo, Gnocchi in Duck Sauce, Grillia Mista. My wife had the Tagliatelle al Tartufo. Dessert was biscotti which you dip in Vin Santo. The pastas were lightly and delicately flavored (typical of Tuscany). All the food was delicious, service perfect. Well done traditional fare. Lovely evening.

I had lunch here today, following recommendations from locals. I ordered only the tagliatelle alla Perugia and panna cotta. Both were so delicious that I wish I had tried a starter or even a secondo. For meat-eaters, there is plenty to love, with staff grilling and slicing at the corner forno. It was a warm day and I was afraid... More

I went for Sunday Pranzo. Inside with the AC on was a beautiful setting. I was the only non-Italian there. The food was well prepared and the family who staffs the place were very attentive. It's up the way from Piazza San Ruffino. Grilling is their specialty.

We regularly visit Assisi and have been eating in this family run restaurant for many years. The restaurant speciality is grilled meats which are cooked on an open grill in the restaurant. The menu has hardly changed over the years but the simple quality and excellent service make this one of the best, and reasonably priced, restaurants in Assisi.

This restaurant is a family run business, established in 1954. We first visited in 2010, finding the restaurant by pure accident as it is located down a laneway in Assisi itself. We visited again in May 2015 and once again were not disappointed. The staff are polite and courteous and grilling food such as rabbit and pork is a speciality.... More

We stopped here while visiting assisi. I was served an excellent tender rabbit in a delicious garlic sauce. The sausages were also good, as was the lamb. Very enjoyable lunch
