We were the first diners to arrive on a mid-week evening and received a warm welcome. Our order, from an excellent menu, arrived promptly. Just as we started to eat a group of around 50 German teenagers, accompanied by several adults, arrived. For some reason we had been seated in the middle of this pre-booked group and the noise was... Caprese with unripe tomatoes (in Italy!?) and dried oregano instead of fresh basil (certainly not an Umbrian speciality). The cheese tortellini were way too rare. Personnel was unfriendly, no eye contact, no question, no advice. There is nothing to be recommended, especially considering the fact that it is so easy to find mediocre Italian standard (which is so way beyond... More

Had dinner here on a Sunday evening because my favorite restaurant in Assisi was closed. Many items on the menu had an asterisk next to them which meant that some of the ingredients in the dish may have been frozen. I did my best to avoid those items and order a mixed salad and tagliatelle with ragu. The food was... More

We arrived and were greeted with a warm friendly smile. We choose to dine on the outside top balcony and it was delightful! Every course topped the next...from the sausage & cheese antipasto, cheese fondu, sausage penne, lemon pasta, beef & pork and the pistachio ice cream were absolutely delicious! You can tell this is a local family run business... More

Just a lovely place, the climb can be a bit daunting but fab when you get there..not much to see once inside as this is a ruin but you can see the views and why they wanted to protect themselves..it's a nice trip..

...Meal, setting, and service. And a big thanks to T-A too, because we first read about it here during our trip research. They have a specialty, Strangozzi al Tartufo, a traditional Umbrian dish of pasta and (lots of!) truffles. It was one of the best dishes we had during our month in Italy. And served to us outside on a... More

Chance upon this restaurant while strolling around. The waiters were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was surprisingly good! Very good value and authentic. Must try...the veal fillet with truffle, porcini and thyme.

Off the beaten track and well worth finding. The restaurant was an unexpected joy and there were very few tourists around. A plus for us. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the caraffe of wine great value. Only negative mark really was that the elderly owner just about chased us out (he may have... More

We found La Rocca by chance and were very glad we did. We dined upstairs on the terrace and were very impressed with the very attentive staff and lively atmosphere of this little gem. We had the tourist menu and were not disappointed. Choice of homemade tagliatelle with ragu or sugo, veal, chicken or pork with potato side and salad... More

We went here based on TA reviews, and we were not disappointed! We had antipasto of salamis and cheese followed by bicoli (a short pasta) with radicchio, nuts, and gorgonzola. Secondi were involtini stuffed with minced beef, sausage, cheese and marjoram AND a tagliata of veal with balsamic, tomatoes, rucola and parmesan. Bith these meat dishes were very nicely done...
