Friendly people. Good food. Decent prices. All on the menue is traditional food. You can come in during lunchtime from 12.30 to 13.30 but you can stay longer than that. Mondays closed.

This restaurant was such a welcome relief from the cold rain in January. Very casual and cheery. The food was hearty and plentiful.
We loved the food and the rustic athmosfere, after all this place used to be a stable!!! Prices are very reasonable, but do not expect a 5 star restaurant service as this is not what this place claims to be, staff is although very friendly and efficient! Overall a great experience I always bring friends visiting me from Italy and...

Created out of one time stables, La Stalla is a unique, one of a kind restaurant. Sitting at long tables, you get to visit with other travelers while you enjoy a deliciously wonderful meal. Having eaten there twice now, my wife and I can tell you that we look forward to a third visit our next time in the Assisi...

Four of us really enjoyed our dinner at Stalla's last night. The food was well cooked and delicious. Especially enjoyed the polenta with mushrooms and cheese, and the quail, and the potatoes. The atmosphere also contributed to the enjoyment of the evening. We sat right next to the grill, which gave us a good view of all the action (everything...

After visiting the Tuscan, we came to Assisi for sightseeing and local people have spoken highly of this place. We came with high expectations, the place is really nice but the service was slow and the portions were very small. Experience not to be repeated.
I am a big fan of La Stalla: five years ago I stumbled upon this restaurant for the first time during a backpacking trip. I was starving and tired and the whole meal and ambience lifted my spirits. I returned this year and to my delight the experience was just as nice. During the summer time, it's a self-service restaurant...

You will probably need a car to get to La Stalla as it is out of the old town, up a windy road (via Eremo delle Carceri) and then down the dirt road that leads into the camping ground (follow the sign). At the end is a building, and behind that building is a small entrance into the dark room,...

This is a get your own red and white checkered tablecloth and silverware kind of place and pick a picnic table. Place your order at the register and proceed to one of three stations depending upon your order (set up is similar to a menu: Primiggi, Secundi, Grill plates that are cooked in - you guessed it- horse stalls- hence...

You won't a fancy menu at La Stalla, but the food is solid Umbrian fare and very tasty. Sitting outside in perfect weather may have influenced our rating, but the staff was friendly and helpful and we went back to eat there a second time.
