If you want to eat great fresh true Tuscan fare then this is the place. Very rustic place with tables tucked into every corner, but the staff were great - very friendly, happy to assist with the menu (only in Italian) & make recommendations. The stuffed gnocchi was pretty special - with their 'secret' sauce. The 'Fantasia' antipasto platter to... More

This place is a little bit hidden, which is great, because it rarely gets overcrowded. The prices are very affordable and the food just out of this world. Any choice of pasta will make you want to taste the other. Go there in a group and try to have different dishes. You will be not disappointed!

I only wanted a light dinner, taking a break from elaborate dining and ordered the salad " Insalata Giganteca " or something like that. I was disappointed that it was made up with plain old iceberg lettuce, and yes there were carrots and olives and other additions, but I frown on iceberg. I had the biscuits dipped in sweet wine... Closest restaurant to the Athena Hotel, just up a long hilly street. The waiter was great in translating the handwritten Italian only menu. We both had the roast pork and it was great with the baked onion. We sat in the basement, but you should ask to sit on the main street level. Good food, great prices and a very... More

Stumbled upon this small shop near my hotel, I had a pichi with pesto sauce and my sister had a ravioli with beef sauce, food was simply amazing. Reasonably priced too.

Wonderful affordable osteria near the Duomo. The gnocchi was fabulous. Very good help from the English-speaking waiter. A real neighborhood, small kind of place

Loved this great little restaurant just around the corner from Hotel Athena. We wandered in without reservations but they were quick to find us a seat. This is not a fancy upscale place just good authentic cooking like your nonna use to make. Reasonably priced, good food out of the hustle and bustle of il campo.

Stopped by late one night for a bite and enjoyed the large antipasto and some house wine. The food was pretty good, excepting the small cold omelet, the bread excellent, and the wine interestingly mediocre. The place was full of locals and the service friendly. It was just what we needed and we were happy. And then they brought us... More

This little family run Osteria has a no-nonsense hand written menu of simple dishes made interesting by original sauces - both pasta and mains. Served with quaffable house wines, it makes a good place for a nice meal without pretensions. But don't underestimate it, the cooking is really good. It is handily placed five minutes from the Duomo. The clientele... More

This restaurant was near to our hotel so we found it as a matter of course. Otherwise, it is well worth tracking it down.... It is in a quiet part of town, five or so minutes walk from the Duomo. The menu is hand-written and hard to read even if you understand Italian! But the staff are extremely helpful and... More
