My family and I had just arrived in Siena and were suggested to have lunch at Nonna Gina. Just around the corner from our hotel, the Athena, this adorable restaurant is cozy and authentic! We ordered the gnocchi (with the special sauce) and the pasta with tomatoes and garlic. I must say, we were incredibly impressed. The pasta was so... More

Restaurant was suggested by Hotel Athena, which is just round the corner. We ate here twice in the evening. Full of locals, we were surrounded by lively chat from the owner. Food great tho menu handwritten so a bit difficult to read! Everyone got complimentary liqueurs at the end of the meal - a lovely touch.

A perfect spot for a great lunch, easy walk from the hotel Athens (whose staff had suggested it). Fresh delicious pasta, and family friendliness.

If a place is full of locals, that's a pretty good sign. We were seated downstairs and every table was Italians. I had the chicken cacciatore and tiramisu. Both were absolutely excellent. We might go back tomorrow night.

Such a great find we came here twice in four nights!! On or first night, we came here truly by chance. We were going to go to a different restaurant down the street, but needed reservations. We were walking back to our car and walked passed Nonna Gina's, we checked out the menu that is posted and walked on in.... More

Having lived in Siena for almost 3 years, this is one of our favorite dinner places. We take all of our guests here, and frequently find ourselves at their door. It is a warm and welcoming restaurant, great food and good house wine in a small, family run spot filled with Senese. Dinner always finishes with the home made amaretto,... More

I don't play home so often - somebody says that "my city is The World" - and when I do, I like to be comfortable. Nice food - pici with briciole were AMAZING and the Fiorentina very tasty - fast service and good house Chianti wine. Highly recommended if you want to have fun in a typical "osteria" downtown.

Recommended by our hotel for the first lunch in Siena we were very happy with this gem. Delicious gnocchi, pasta, and steak which my husband said reminded him of his nonnas cooking. Cosy and homely decor, seemed quite popular with locals.

This place is a safe bet for food on your first night in Siena. Tourist friendly, safe if unspectacular. There ar ebetter restaurants in Siena but if you're a bit tired after a day's travel and just want a simple tusacn meal this palce is fine.
