Great food with reasonable price.

Great restaurant recommended by our hotel - friendly to families. Offered nice local food with modest price. Complimentary local drinks to finish. We had a good time.

This osteria in Siena is very pretty, with its checked tableclothes and its local, traditional air. Food was great, I had the Cacio e Pepe pici which was very tasty. House wine not so good, but complimentary limoncello and walnut liquer at the end of the meal was a plus. The pictures of the actual Nonna Ginna on the wall... More

We were here for Sunday lunch, and it's clear that this is a place with a lot of regulars who get treated like family (or ARE family, we were sitting next to the owners' daughter and granddaughter). The nice thing is that they extend that level of friendliness even to random tourists! The food is rustic, with delicious homemade pastas... More

Several reviews used the word safe. This fits as this seems to be a very good, but not spectacular restaurant. We went on a Tuesday in January so there was no crowd at all, only a couple of other tables. We started with the bruschetta which was good. I had the Pico Dado (think spaghetti, but thicker with a meat... More

My family and I had just arrived in Siena and were suggested to have lunch at Nonna Gina. Just around the corner from our hotel, the Athena, this adorable restaurant is cozy and authentic! We ordered the gnocchi (with the special sauce) and the pasta with tomatoes and garlic. I must say, we were incredibly impressed. The pasta was so... More

Restaurant was suggested by Hotel Athena, which is just round the corner. We ate here twice in the evening. Full of locals, we were surrounded by lively chat from the owner. Food great tho menu handwritten so a bit difficult to read! Everyone got complimentary liqueurs at the end of the meal - a lovely touch.

A perfect spot for a great lunch, easy walk from the hotel Athens (whose staff had suggested it). Fresh delicious pasta, and family friendliness.

If a place is full of locals, that's a pretty good sign. We were seated downstairs and every table was Italians. I had the chicken cacciatore and tiramisu. Both were absolutely excellent. We might go back tomorrow night.

Such a great find we came here twice in four nights!! On or first night, we came here truly by chance. We were going to go to a different restaurant down the street, but needed reservations. We were walking back to our car and walked passed Nonna Gina's, we checked out the menu that is posted and walked on in.... More
