Tradition and frugality

Not far from the city center, it is a very traditional place, in which dishes are objective, with no frills. Few options, huge quality, tradition is all around, filling the atmosphere from the narrow rooms to the cloth. Pick starters, or pasta, or meat: they will deliver with the right flavors and... read more

We had a really nice dinner there! Something for everyone! We were six people for dinner and they brought us appetizers family style which worked perfectly! Good wine choices too!

Waiter translated with a sense of humor. Food was good. Salad was huge 3 of us shared. I had gnocchi with secret sauce was quite tasty. Topped off with a choice of Grappa or homemade Amaretto.

A friendly family and staff, a cozy place, good rustic food, nice wines - great place to end any day in Siena, one of the loveliest places on earth. We really loved this place.

Excellent food and service - feels like a family-run, long-established place. The prices are very good and the food is excellent. The portions are generous as well which is an added bonus (although I was too full to eat dessert). The staff are attentive and very friendly, even to non-Italian speakers like us...Plus free grappa / amaretto after dinner which... More

Think pillows of pasta like gnocchi should be, and then add a filling of fluffy ricotta. With a sauce that accents, but doesn't overpower. Incredible. And the hospitality is pure Siena. Come here. Just do it. And try to be nice (this is for the Americans...cause we can be quite judgemental when out of our 'element' aka chile's or olive... More

We had a great lunch here. The fantasia antipasti was awesome and the gnocchi with "secret" sauce were like little pillows. Also maybe the best tiramasu I had in Italy.

Excellent food. Very Italian. Terrific staff. Good value. Never had some of these dishes before and rhey were tremendous. Try the gnocchi with cheese inside. We like so much we went twice. Be careful, it's full and many Italians go for business dinners, etc.

They even gave us grappa and amaretto at the end since they didn't want us to leave without an after-meal drink! If you're not a big meat eater the crostini might be a little heavy (chicken liver) but otherwise this was divine. Wonderful stuffed gnocchi (cheese and nuts) as well as some of the best pici I've head, in an... More

Our hotel staff recommended Nonna Gina and we were very pleased. We were seated immediately and greeted like one of the family. Food was amazing - especially the gnocchi in secret sauce. Great food for a great price
