Our hotel, Athena, recommended Nonna Gina for a nice lunch after our arrival from Gardone Riviera. It was a short and lovely walk and we were pleased with the homey surroundings and artwork. The menu was full of great country dishes....we had the tripe, and faggiole with sausage. Both were terriffic. We will go back for sure!

If you decide to order the very good gnocchi and the pasta, bear in mind that they are filling, so don't order too many other dishes. The boar stew is tasty, but the roast pork is just average. Order vegetable sides to go with them. The home-made panna cotta was excellent. The house red is good and inexpensive. The service,... More

Best experience in Siena. As has been pointed out, the after dinner grappa and amaretto is a bonus. On top of it all was Nonna's secret sauce on the gnocchi. A DO NOT MISS place if you visit Siena. Bob Hahn

My husband and I had dinner at Osteria Norma Gina tonight and the meal was great! Pasta was superb and the service was awards winning. Our waitress was extremely friendly and eagerly helped us with our selections. The the house gave after dinner drinks which was a big surprise and really appreciated. Would highly recommend for a nice quiet evening... More

Me and my wife stayed at Hotel Athena just down the road and was recommended this place by the staff who said they eat there them selves. We'd passed the restaurant numerous times and it was always busy and the food smelt good coming from the open kitchen window. We booked ahead to ensure we got a table. I'm always... More

This was a lucky find. While Il Palio warming up Siena was very crowded, we were looking something authentic and a little away from the crowds. Menu hand written in italian, we picked what we could recognise and hoped for the best. Amazing homemade type food. When asked for the bill you are handed a bottle of Amaretto, another liquer... I visited Siena for 8 days in July. While staying at Hotel Athena, we would walk by this restaurant everyday. They were closed for vacation the majority of our stay but luckily on our last night in Siena, they opened. The menu is all in Italian but the servers will gladly explain what each item means. I chose the gnocchi with... More

Menu was interesting but not so easy to understand. The food was really good and home cooked. It felt like being in a time warp but in a very acceptable way! Dessert was so good and the liqueur on the house was a treat! Thanks to all the staff who made it a lovely meal.

I travel quite a lot in Italy but for the first time in Siena and this restaurant is really great ! We had the "Antipasto della nonna" which is grilled vegetables in olive oil and special spices, I love that kind of antipasto but this one is the best I have ever had ! The rigatoni al ragu are very... More

We chose this Osteria because it was on our way back from the historical center to our hotel. I would say that it was cheap and the food was good. We were very satisfied.
