We found this place up a bit of a steep climb. We arrived at 7 as they opened. We were the only customers and were well-treated. We thoroughly enjoyed the mussels and clams with chopped tomatoes. Wonderful flavor in a nice , rich broth. The tagliatelle with cream sauce and truffles was very light, though not as tasty as I... More

It's hard to find a good restaurant in the historic centre of Siena so this was a pleasant surprise. It was almost empty when we arrived for lunch (mid-winter, after the holidays) so perhaps they were especially glad to see us. By chance the four of us all chose different dishes, making it difficult: one full meal, one pasta only,... More

Small bistro done in a modern/rustic decor. Interesting menu, well executed. Muscles and clams sautéed in garlic and basil, particularly good. Black ink tortellini stuffed with potatoes in a tomato sauce and lemon risotto with squid and zucchini flowers was good, although couldn't pick out any zucchini flowers and the risotto could have been a bit creamier and the rice... My risotto was ok. Not that tasty, but not that bad. The beef with red wine reduction and onions was awful, tastefulless and with a lot of nerves. Not worth at all.

We didn't stay enough time to have the "pleasure" of tasting their food. The prices were high, the staff was'nt friendly, and when they got we talk Hebrew - they started to talk ugly. Then we left... But we found a lovely restaurant 50m from there! Tasty, cheap and kind!

The restaurant can be found up a short but very steep slope at the beginning of Via Castelvecchio. We had appetisers of tiger prawns with strawberries and balsamic (amazing) and the mussels and clams in a white wine, pesto and garlic sauce/soup base. This was enormous for an appetiser and we spent a whole soaking up the remaining delicious sauce... More

We were recommended to this off the beaten path restaurant by our hotel. We were not disappointed. The restaurant itself was charming and the staff was very pleasant and welcoming. The menu was varied, the food was creatively presented, and everything was very good including the wine.

Quintessential tuscan cusine slightly off the beaten path in Siena. Our group shared mixed antipasto, truffle pasta, beef stew, wild boar, and suckling pig filet. Paired perfectly with delicious house wine that brings brings out the deepest flavors in the meat. a true flavor eruption! Attentive service and clean bathrooms :). Get away from the tourist restaurants around piazza de... More

Just like others, found this restaurant as part of simply wandering around in Siena. Was taken in by the menu, which had something that is generally missing in Italy - variety. The place was hopping all night long and the service was the best we had on a two-week long trip. In fact, this place is worth making a visit... More

Six of us were taken to Osteria Castelvecchio by a friend who is living in Siena. We loved the food so much we went back a second night while on our trip. The waiter was very helpful. Be sure to leave room for dessert - the chocolate souffle is wonderful!
