We visited this wonderful restaurant on Saturday evening and the food was fabulous! Tucked away on a quiet back street in Siena, this is a marvellous find, and well worth a gentle stroll up the hill from the Campo to get to. Elegant, and unusually modern decor in this cavern-like restaurant, and simple, excellent quality food. Good service, and a thoroughly enjoyable lunch!

Kind of a modern/artisan decor... the menu was quite unique and sophisticated - integrating a classic and modern menu and delicious... great value for such high end cuisine... attentive staff, romantic.

It was our last night in Siena and we were looking for something different from the usual Tuscan or Sienese food, which we had gorged ourselves on for the last few days. We found this wonderful osteria off the beaten path. But still close to the Duomo. I know everyone says this, but...we saved the best for last. It was... More

Dined here on two evenings and both times - superb food and warm, friendly service. The interior has lots of character and we found it full of locals which is always a great sign. The second time we dined, there was a large party of people from Sienna University having a lively celebration and that added to the great atmosphere.... More

A bit off the beaten path, tucked away in a small street not more than 10 minutes away from the Duomo. Beautiful place recently renovated. Food is very tasty indeed, try the fish or the tagliata which is wonderfully seasoned. Nice hard working people, good service. Good wine selection too. Well worth the detour. Recommended.

W e have been traveling for the last 2 weeks in Tusacny and Umbria. This was by far the best florentine steak we have had. it may get overlooked because it's off the beaten path but be sure to try it. The food is artfully prepared and the atomosphere amazing. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. A must if... More

overall, the best restaurant that I dined in in Siena. Overall, the food is fresh and seasonal and served in a modern setting. The chicken liver pate on crostini is a must!

I find it hard to believe that this fantastic restaurant is ranked #54 in Siena. The food was so amazingly good here, we returned the next night. We saw no reason to take a chance on any other place after being floored the first night. Of the 10 dinners we ate in four cities, this was the second best. Service... More

In fact we saw the entrance of this restaurant while searching for La Taverna di San Giuseppe which is highly advised by TripAdvisor. Osteria Castelveccio is a little hidden due to recent renovation works outside. Nevertheless, we entered the restaurant without reservation, hungry and tired from walking all day long. The waiters were very kind, immediately show us a nice... More
