Very, very good

We ducked onto La Taverna for lunch for lunch as it was beginning to rain. What luck...this restaurant is very, very good. The baked pecorino was great and the Papa Pomodoro soup was the best I've had (I prefer more tomato than bread). Service was very good too.

This is the forth time we have visited this restaurant on four separate occasions on our travels to the Tuscan region. The owners/staff are always welcoming and accomodating. On this visit to Siena, it happened to be raining and we decided to go back to this same establishment to get a warm lunch and dry off. All four of our... More

The baked pecorino cheese appetizer was excellent. The chianti Classico house wine was very drinkable, not complex but easy to drink and an absolute bargain at 12 €/liter. The cheese and pepper spaghetti was a gooey tasteless mess but the ravioli was much better. The atmosphere was pleasant, not ostentatious and felt durably local. A solid choice that was not... More

Friendly atmosphere and good pasta with a glass of Chianti. What more can one wish for in beautiful Siena?

I was fortunate to be with a local Italian who assisted with ordering typical local specialities which did not disappoint. The restaurant appears to be part of a very old building thus lending lots of character to a very enjoyable dining experience. Contrary to another reviewer, I found the food tasty and genuine and the staff went out of their... More

My husband and I were famished after a great tour of the cathedral. We wanted pizza, so headed to this spot nearby. Even though Trip Advisor says they have pizza, it was not on their menu! However, we enjoyed a nice lunch anyway. The bruschetta was wonderful! My husband had rigatoni and I had ravioli in cheese fondue. The service... More

The restaurant is located near the Duomo, we should have known better, but we made the mistake of eating at this place as we were starving. I am a foodie and travel all over the world, I'm telling reviewers to save yourself the trouble and do not dine at this establishment, a step above Olive Garden! The ravioli gratin pecorino... More

We finally decided to try the bistecca fiorentina. This place was a good choice to do it. In addition, the trerose di montepulciano was wonderful.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and it did not disappoint. We shared a pasta bolognese which was quite meaty and generous as opposed to tomato based. I had the Osso Bucco very generous while the partner enjoyed the rabbit in a herb sauce. Good wine selection and excellent service.
