Not knowing where to eat for lunch after being dropped off from a tour we did a quick search and came across this restaurant as highly rated. Upon arrival we had a fairly high expectation and they were exceeded! We ordered a calabrese salad which was very nice though having tasted buffalo mozzarella I wished they served that. The real... We had some pasta dishes and each of them was an absolute delight, especially the ones with truffles! We will be back...

Our favourite restaurant in Tuscany. Nothing beats the truffle tagliatelle and beff stew. Family run service. It has a lovely buzz. We have been back many times to the restaurant and would definitely recommend it.

We were in Siena for a day trip. The restaurant was highly recommended by Lonely Planet. The food was ok, but the waitress was unfriendly, additionally, she has no clue about the restaurant day special, I asked her what does alla livornese mean, she told me it was fried (!!!!)

The food I had was very good- veal stew in Chianti but it came with nothing else so I simply had meat in sauce for dinner. In this instance I believe the waiter should recommend a side dish if they know that the dish contains nothing else. My partner had pasta with gorgonzola which he says was 'just good'. Dissapointingly... More

From an Italian point of view I can't recommend this place, service was slow, the food good but nothing incredible - the waitress was nice but not really professional - full restaurant with only her serving the whole place. In the end the bill was kind of expensive for what we ate and the owner didn't even ask how was... More

Found this on Tripadvisor and attracted by the comments that it was local cuisine and inexpensive together with good reviews it sounded like just the sort of place we like. Generally we found it so, the food was very good however, the service was verging on the unfriendly. A pity – perhaps the waiter was having a bad day!

Pasta with white truffles very good. Also antipasto meat starter. Just to say, the first photo here (inside with tables) is not L'Osteria. L'osteria is a smallish restaurant with wooden interior.

Visited this restaurant based on reviews read here. The place is small, that's ok, but everything else was bad. Service was very bad, the waiter was plain uninterested, could pass a course in being nice to customers. The food was nothing special, my grilled beef steak was dry on one end and raw on the other, side dish was completely... More

This is a small, modest environment, somewhat away from the madding crowd, The food was delicious with the pici pasta a particularly treat. A tasty lunch was had by all.
