One of our highlights of our trip! Not everyone’s cup of tea I suspect. Not posh, smart, suave but homely, relaxed, very friendly, great local food. And just off the Piazza del Campo. Need I say more.

Visiting tourist hotspots one can get cynical about finding really good value and authenticity. Locanda offers both, yet is in the heart of Siena a couple of hundred metres from Il Campo down a side street leading to the car park. It is a small, basic family run restaurant offering good wholesome Italian food at good prices. We were late... More

The bar smells very bad, we arrived at 13 45 and the owner didnt want to serve us, but there was people starting to eat, maybe because we was only 2 persons, not enough for him.

We came upon this restaurant by chance and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and tasted like a home cooked meal made with lots of love. Definitely try it, you won't be disappointed.

After walking thru the square my husband and I stumbled into this very quaint looking restaurant. We had such a great experience! Our waiter(owner?) was so friendly and made us feel very comfortable. Our meal was delicious and the house chianti was great! We couldn't get over how inexpensive it was! I would recommend this to everyone!

I have been coming to Siena for seven years now and I am afraid that I have neglected this dear little restaurant. We have tried all of the best restaurants in Siena, and this one certainly deserves your love. It's small and a bit quirky... the best part is that there is a dear little Italian woman who makes everything... More

After a terribly long day of travel and a nap, we headed to Il Campo and went here as per Rick Steves. It was a Friday night at 8pm. We were the only ones there! It was a little awkward, but we got excellent service! Ravioli and carbonara were ordered. They were delicious and for sure homemade. Get off the... More

Rick Steve's and trip advisor didn't lead us wrong. The tiny street is hugged up right next to ll Campo building on the opposite side of the tower. The restaurant has been run for years by the cute husband and wife team. We arrived at 7:00 and by 7:45 the place was filled. I ordered a grilled vegetable platter for... More

This is a real place to eat when at Siena. Don't miss it. Everything is excellent. Now that I am writing I am tasting the desert that is simply emotional!

Great tip from Rick Steves on this little family run joint that feels a 1,000 miles away from the tourist traps nearby on Il Campo. Rustic setting but the cooking is fantastic. I had a plate of beans in a tomato sauce with grilled sausages that was utterly fantastic. Almond pie for desert was great too. Service is very friendly... More
