A short walk from the heart of Siena but the food was very good. Family run with excellent pastas. House red wine was extremely good at a great price.

We were walking into Siena for the day, and looking for a place to eat. We had already walked past a few places, when we came upon L'Oro di Siena. So glad we went in. On the menu was pasta with truffles. It was mushroom season and the dish was absolutely awesome! The waiter even brought out a truffle to... More

We wandered into this restaurant looking for dinner in an area that there did not seem to be very many nice eating places. We had a wonderful meal, so good that we returned the next night to try different things on the menu. Everything was excellent, as was the service and the Lemoncello that we finished off with.

Thinking to have just a quick lunch on our way out of town. It was delicious. Homemade pasta, great texture and taste. Big and beautiful salad with plentiful and varied ingredients. Had a beer served with an iced glass, which was a first for us in Italy. Decided to have a dessert and they served us a melt in your... More

Delicious local specialities (especially the 'rare meat', and the cheese and honey), very reasonable prices, delightful friendly staff. A great place to retreat to, just opposite our hotel (Minerva) after a hard day tramping or driving around beautiful Tuscany. My only tiny gripes are: please stop playing Westlife music, and please print your menu on white, not red, paper (small... More

Our hungry group of 10 stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant while searching for a spot to celebrate one family member's 18th birthday. It was late-- most restaurants were closing for the night-- and we feared we would not find a place to eat that evening. We popped into L'Oro and meekly asked if they would serve such a... More

We had a very enjoyable evening at L'Oro di Siena. The food was excellent with very good service all at a fair price. The restaurant is outside of the tourist area so the clients are local making for an authentic Italian dining experience.

We arrived already at 6.30pm but were warmly welcomed eventhough they open at 19.15. Food is absolutely fabulous aswell as the service. Mother makes the best pasta and son makes the best pizza's! Don't leave Siena without eating here.

you can go to the places right at the center. They are all the same. Expensive and not good quality. This place is great food and quality for price. Yes, a busy local road but part of charm. Tourists come early and locals at 9pm. You can't go wrong. Go to center fr looks but here for the feel of... More
