Local fare, good value

If you want to dine like the locals, away from many of the tourists, you will enjoy L'Oro di Siena. Family run - mama in the kitchen, son waiting the tables. Best value meal of the trip. Service: Excellent. The server was very attentive and eager to please. Atmosphere: This is a beautiful restaurant with lovely decorations. There was only one other table of tourists. The remainder were all locals. Food: Delicious! Fresh and tasty. Our only regret was that were attending the L’Opera Di Siena and didn’t have time to enjoy dessert – which I’m sure... More

We were looking for a nice Italian meal in Siena, and it was a very cold night in February. The outside sort of looks inviting. The waiter is not that friendly, and not that bothered by taking your coat, your order or being courteous. We ordered bottles of water, wine, dishes of different pasta 9 Euro's and 8.5 Euro's, and... Kind and helpful stuff who do care about the experience they deliver. Tasty and inexpensive food. Good location on the border to the old town. Too many German beers through, too few Italian brands. Overall a pleasant experience. I recommend that place.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Went here upon recommendation of Trip Advisor. Food was awesome! Service was excellent! Our server spoke excellent English and was very helpful in deciding what to eat. Family run eatery. "Mama" is a great cook! Even served some soup that was not even on the menu.

A short walk from the heart of Siena but the food was very good. Family run with excellent pastas. House red wine was extremely good at a great price.

We were walking into Siena for the day, and looking for a place to eat. We had already walked past a few places, when we came upon L'Oro di Siena. So glad we went in. On the menu was pasta with truffles. It was mushroom season and the dish was absolutely awesome! The waiter even brought out a truffle to... More

We wandered into this restaurant looking for dinner in an area that there did not seem to be very many nice eating places. We had a wonderful meal, so good that we returned the next night to try different things on the menu. Everything was excellent, as was the service and the Lemoncello that we finished off with.

Thinking to have just a quick lunch on our way out of town. It was delicious. Homemade pasta, great texture and taste. Big and beautiful salad with plentiful and varied ingredients. Had a beer served with an iced glass, which was a first for us in Italy. Decided to have a dessert and they served us a melt in your... More
