What a difference a few bucks make. Having just eaten with friends in another Sienese restaurant a few days ago (an old stalwart where we used to send friends for a not-too-expensive meal but whose quality has so badly deteriorated that we said "no mas!") we tried Compagnia dei Vinattieri and were perfectly satisfied with the results. I shall not... More

If you are in Siena, GO HERE. We found out about this place after not being able to get into the very popular, La Taverna Di Giuseppe. We came later in the evening and we still had impeccable service. The place is tucked away and feels like you are in a cozy wine cellar. In fact, the waiter was so... More

Cozy and warm setting, great stuff, central location, reasonable price. But it is the wine list and the food that makes this restaurants a gem. The food is an innovative rendering of mostly Tuscan food and a few other parts of Italy. There are superb appetizers and half a dozen pastas and a similar number of main dishes. There are... More

I came here at the recommendation of Costanza of Siena Walking Tours. She recommended a local Sienese dish which was basically a pork ravioli with pesto. I also added a plate of local cheeses, Assaggi Di Pecorino Toscano, and a glass of Chianti Classico. The food was delicious and while servings were not huge, I was completely full. A highlight... The staff is incredibly welcoming and we had a wonderful dining experience! We walked in without a reservation and the staff accommodated us as best they could. Because we loved the romantic feel of the restaurant we decided to make a reservation and come back the following night for my husband's birthday. The wine and food delicious and the service... More

Dined in July 2013. We had a reservation at 8:00 but found ourselves hunger earlier. We arrived at the restaurant around 7:30, and they were just opening but were happy to accomodate us. From the moment we sat down, we were treated like family. From the opening glass of Prosecco to the delicious dessert, we had a fantastic time. The... More

My husband and I enjoyed our romantic dinner here. The ambiance of the restaurant is really very nice. We were welcomed graciously and it felt festive when the Prosecco and chef's amuse bouche arrived. The pasta was excellent. My husband adored his duck entree but mine beef was too salty. When I mentioned this to the waitress at the end... More

We did the tasting menu which included; Presecco, appetizers (3/person), two first courses (pastas), a main beef course, and dessert medley (3 items). The charge was €40 without three wines and €50 with three wines. We did the wine option They kept coming back to refill our wine glasses. One got Prosecco with either selection. You had the option of... More

I was advised by some friends to go to this restaurant in the old Siena, unfortunately we were vey upset about a menu that had nothing to do with Tuscan flavors. They try some sort of "Nouvelle Cuisine" with a relatively bad taste, the lamb was smelly and very heavy, the pasta so,so and overall not a very good experience.

The restaurant was underground and looked the cave of wine, and the atmosphere was casual and nice. The ham and mozzorela were nicest for me, but the best one for myself was red wine, Brunello di Montalcino 2007. I had tried this wine four times during my stay in Toscana, but the wine here was the best. They had a... More
