After touring Siena all morning we selected this place based on Rick Steves guidebook. It is a small family operation with son (about 8 years old) on hand. Service was plain & rough but food was very good to excellent and we (2 couples) thought an excellent value. One couple each had pici and shared porcini cheese with fig jelly.... More

Sorry, poor review. Three failed attempts to eat here because of the wonderful reviews. Each time we were treated less than important. Whoever greeted us at the door was dismissive, impolite, ignoring, etc. it is simply not worth begging for.

It took ages until we could order and after 1 hour (!!!) we finally got the starter. After two hours we finally finished the secondi piatti, i waited again 15 minutes for an espresso, plus the waiter, I guess it's the Boss, was really unfriendly. The food was also below average and it was not really cheap! I wouldn't go... More

A lovely place, an authentic family-run osteria, in the middle of one of the most inspiring towns in Italy. The simplicity and lack of pretentiousness of this place are inversely proportional to the quality of the food, which we found (I write this review in English, but I'm Italian) outstanding. The service was also something worth appreciating - the right... More

Having read the Tripadvisor reviews we were really excited to visit this osteria. We popped in about 7pm and were told to come back at 8, which we did. The atmosphere was good and the meal started well. The rabbit mini gnocchi was delicious. However, it all fell apart when it came to the mains. The Pollo al diavolo was... More

This place is what I was looking for in Italy. It was cozy and had simple and delicious food. All that, and a great price. I will definitely come back.

If you are in Siena, don't miss this place. Seriously. Two years later and I'm just now reviewing it and STILL talking about it. Yum!

I've been here tons of time and I'll never get sick of it. It is nice for couples and perfect for groups of friends. The last time I ordered a plate of homemade pappardelle with wild boar sauce and a fiorentina of 1.5kg. They were both tasty and delicious. You'll never go home disappointed or still hungry. Last but not... More

Ok, I am a huge fan of local hidden little places. This one is way too good to be described in written words. Amazing quality, good home made style food and interesting variety. The place is very little so I suggests to book in advance. Do not skip the dessert! it's REALLY home made.

A short walk from our hotel (the Athena) this place is one where you want to go with another couple if possible. Splitting an antipasto, several primi pasta dishes and a two secundos gives you a selection of tastes to be savored. With a bottle of wine, this cost the four of us about 150 euros. Do make reservations as... More
