Small family run restaurant worth visiting

We loved this small restaurant with attentive service and excellent food. This is the type of small establishment that makes a trip to Siena. The prices seem inexpensive for the quality and service that you will receive.

We happened to walk in one evening without a reservation and got a table. The place is small, but quaint. The home-made pasta dishes were outstanding and the house red was pretty good. The service was quick and the waiter explained the parts of the menu which we did not understand. We tried to walk in another night because it... More

We arrived in Siena and we sat down in what seemed to be an appealing place where we waited 15 minutes before being brusquely told we could not be served for at least half an hour and were told to leave by the waiter shouting - he was extremely rude and unfriendly and this place deserves to die because I... This small restaurant within the walled city of Siena is every thing that is good….local ingredients, local owners, local diners. After dinner a plate of biscotti is offered with the local sweet wine…great ending to a wonderful meal.

The food is simple but very delicious, home made style. One of my favorites in Siena. The waiter speaks English, nice and fast.

This osteria has regular 'themed' meals - this evening was Lebanese. Exquistite from the starter to the dessert - the fried chicken and lemon cake deserve special mentions. And, unusually for Tuscany, this would also be suitable for vegetarians, (apart from the chicken, of course). Very friendly service|

On the one hand, we were treated quite nicely here; on the other hand, as much as we wanted to really like what did seem to be a locals' spot, it was hit-or-miss. The 2 hits were the pici (local fat spaghetti) with a spicy garlic tomato sauce and a side of large white beans with mushrooms; the misses, however,... More

We went into the restaurant without a reservation right about opening time. No one was seated yet and I attempted the best I could to ask for a table in Italian. The person working there asked if I had a reservation and I apologized and said no. He waved me off and turned his back on me and walked away.... More

We went here on a recommendation. We found the service and food to be lacklustre. We were disappointed because it was obviously a local osteria and generally we find these to be excellent. Perhaps it was what we ate, perhaps they don't really like 'tourists' or perhaps they were having an off night. Judging by the other reviews, something was... More
