After a lot of workings a new management in one of the most beautiful corners of Siena. A small courtyard which is accessed through a small gate in Vicolo del Campaccio 2, next to the Sanctuary of Santa Caterina, will take you on a culinary journey in the name of tradition and modernity. Two young people with a great desire to experiment and invent propose a local and well taken bistrot with a various menu changing with the seasons. A lot of fish (always fresh) but also great meat, pasta and homemade bread, sweet temptations in name of quality. Self-production and looking for products strictly from our own organic and sustainable. Come to visit us!

Delicious

Went to this eatery by accident as The Palio was on at the time and some places were closed. Yum, we were both impressed with our lunch, both pasta, one with spicy rich tomato sauce and the other duck and olives. Half a litre of house red, bottled water, bread and coffees about 35 euros. We... read more

When we were trying to decide on restaurants, this was one I said was a 3 way tie for first choice. So we decided we would try lunch there. It's around the corner from Santa Domenico up from St. Catherine's Sanctuary. You enter the restaurant by descending a few steps into a private courtyard. There is inside dining but the... More

In a recent trip to Siena (June 2015) my wife and I chose to dine at Il Campaccio because we had read about it on a blog that was written by an international student studying at the University there. For years it has always garnered rave reviews as a high-end pizzeria. However, we learned that the restaurant had, that week,... More

I have dined here before, in 2011. When I returned to Siena in March 2014, I went right back to Osteria il Campaccio. It is small, intimate place. The street is more of an alley, and you enter the restaurant through an iron gate in the stone wall and descend a flight of stone steps. In warmer weather, sit in... More

We've been looking for a place to have dinner at on a Saturday night and suddenly we found this hidden Osteria nearby the monastery of Santa Caterina. The place itself is tiny and cosy. The waitress (Grazia) was nice and prepared, promptly answered all of our queries and went through a list of very good wines, through which we opted... More

My Mother & I stayed at Hotel Alma Domus & were willing to venture anywhere in the city for a chance to enjoy gluten free pizza. Osteria il Campaccio is a hidden gem just around the corner!! The staff was INCREDIBLE. Friendly, accommodating, & eager to ensure we had a wonderful experience. The pizza was fantastic - better than any... More

November visit. We were the only customers. Small place. Friendly. Atmosphere would probably be better with more diners. Radio was playing a football match commentary, which interfered with conversation at times. Food for meat eaters was great. For vegetarians/fish eaters, options on secondi piatti were very restricted. A good rustic pleasant meal.

We walked by this restaurant several times and were intrigued by the menu. We had dinner and were very impressed with the quality of the food in such a tiny place. The pear and pecorino pasta was delicious!!!!

This restaurant is situated under the arches of a cellar. There is also a little outside patio. We ate here eight times. And every time we rubbed the plates clean with a piece of bread. Pici alla agllione, Pizza Indiavolente, white cheese pizza’s, giant ravioli with cherry tomatoes. All excellent prepared and served by an all-female staff. Every evening we... More

When we asked the person at the desk of our hotel, Alma Domus, to suggest a restaurant, the told us about Osteria il Campaccio. What a great little place tucked down a side street! It was very close to our hotel and run by a busy family. After 2 weeks in Italy we had tried lots of Caprese and decided... More
