Classic Siena Osteria

Don't let there direct, straight shooting service fool you! They are quick, polite and do not serve bull! Wonderful food and great (small) atmosphere. The Fiorentina meat (all 1.3 kg) was amazing (in my buzzed state I actually called our waitress "un angelo di Fiorentina" and she didn't mind one... read more

We had been recommended to try this place by our hotel. Tonight we did just that. The waitress was attentive and helpful but the food was disappointing. Osso bucco very salty, medium steak was more rare and tough. The owner/manager lacked good customer service although a couple who were obviously locals got heaps of attention even while we were paying... More

I went there for lunch, on my own. Eating on one's own in Italy can be a problem -- waiters tend to look down on you (especially if you are a woman eating alone). The restaurant was full of locals but there was a table by the door and the waiter pointed it out to me. Overall, they treated me... More

The food was decent but the service was horrendous! The staff told us they had no seats because we had a stroller but the restaurant was obviously empty. After a while they gave us a table after all but then they ignored us and told us we could not pay with cards even though other customers were allowed to do... More

Unfortunately, the one time I didn't research restaurants prior to visiting a town we were disappointed Pros: quick, efficient service, inexpensive prices, large portions, clean washroom Cons: food is not at all fresh or of good quality Wait staff weren't friendly but neither were they rude. Obviously a popular local haunt for lunch but would not recommend. Walk further into... More

We wanted to eat at one of the restaurants away from the main drag . I had seen one that served lots of fish which suited me. However La Piana looked worth trying as it was traditional , full of guests and menu varied and nor expensive. We had to wait a short while for them to find us a... More

Food: Pasta was full of oil and even didnt get the real parmasano cheese, pizza was quite small and not a one an Italian could be proud of. Service: Two waitresses sitting and smoking in front of the restaurant absulolutely not caring about us. They were not helpful at all and VERY unfriendly. Prices: They charged us Coperto, but we... We were staying in the general area of this restaurant, and was a very good area for restaurants and some bars instead of going into main piazza area. We sat inside, good menu choices, our waitress was efficient, and our meals were very enjoyable. NIce atmosphere and decor, seemed to be frequented by locals as well, overall was very good... More

The restaurant is cental but a little outside the main tourist area which presumably is the reason for the many local guests in the restaurant. The atmosphere was casual and local - and indeed charming. The food was perfect and the prices were very moderate. Absolutely recommended.

First person of the night. Was turned away at 6.55, open at 7pm I was told. Went back as I was recommended to go here. Had Carbonara, not the best, very greasy. Service wasn't with a smile and they were more interested in having conversations with each other oputside than taking any notice that I wanted to pay & leave.
