I loved the atmosphere and staff, friendly and warm. I had the Osso Bucco and it was salty. I was a bit disappointed but the other dishes looked great and it's a very popular place. I will go back.

As this is at the start of the walk into the walled city, many will probably walk past it on their way towards the markert square etc, so glad we walked back to it! Nothing too fancy, traditional cooking and extremely tasty. Surprisingly good value also, we only had 3 nights in Siena and ate here twice! Tuscan meat starter... More

In the old part of the town, away from Il Campo and Il Campo prices. We had an evening meal in the osteria. If the locals eat here then you know it can't be bad. Food really good and a carafe of house wine for 8 Euros. Only a small place so can get busy so book or get there... More

Very poor service. The waiters are not very friendly to foreigners, probably because 10% is included in the bill, and they do not expect tips.

The 'osteria' is very simple, just a room on the main street near the ancient walls where Porta Camollia opens its gate towards Florence. The food is simple, but painstakingly made really deserving a tasting. Tagliolini truffle mushroom and tatare of Chianina beef, how delicious they are. During the summer the best choice is a table on the street. It's... More

We ate here one evening and the food was ok but not outstanding. Portions were reasonable and prices comparable with similar restaurants except that as well as having a cover charge they also added a 10% service charge which we only found in one other restaurant in our 2 week stay.

We walked by this place at lunch and saw 13 Euro Fixed Menu (vino, salad, antipasto, primo and secondi), and thought it would offer the same dinner hours. But when we came back it didn't. We figure the prices were OK so we tried it. Wow, what a surprise. The cold cut meat were great, pasta cooked to perfection (not... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant after wanting to get off the beaten track a bit and get out of the main square (beautiful as it is)... what a lovely find. Small and intimate - great food - we had the bistecca fiorentina - wow it was huge but we shared it and it was delicious! Pasta was great too as... More

I visited Osteria La Piana whilst in Siena on holiday, with my partner, his parents and my mum. We loved this restaurant, the pasta was gorgeous, Bruschetta fresh and steak amazing. The deserts did not disappoint either, all washed down with a glass of the house white (only around €10 a litre). The atmosphere was welcoming and it appeared to... More
