We ate here with my extended family of 7 and the food and setting are outstanding. They treated us like family and when we left, gave us a bottle of wine! Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy this gem and the attentive staff. We will be back!

I was here in a night in August and the restaurant was full. The gnocchi was fantastic, out of this world. But the service was cold and the moment of the happy birthday was bizzare with a very uncool Brazilian song (I'm from Brazil!). If you love gnocchi, dont miss. The wine is great but that is easy, you are... More

This place was fantastic! We loved Siena and this restaurnt just topped it off for us. The waiters were attentive and knowledgable and the food was delicious. We tried the homemade chocolate pasta and white wild boar sauce in an attempt to be adventurous and were well rewarded! Can't wait to come back again! We are now Onde supporters!

My husband and I went to La Taverna di San Giuseppe on our second night in Italy for his birthday. The place is exactly what you'd imagine an old Italian restaurant to be - stone walls, candles, incredibly friendly and fun waiters (they put your purse on its own tiny chair (!) and unbelievable food. We ordered the bruschetta -... More

My husband and I booked this restaurant, following advice from fellow trip advisor reviewers. We enjoyed a lovely trip to siena and finished it off with an outstanding meal in this restaurant. The staff are extremely friendly. It is usually booked out and so the atmosphere is great. The food and wine was outstanding and good value as well. The... More

Believe it or not, my wife and I could not find Il Campo so we stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant as we made our way through Siena. We arrived 10 minutes before lunch service began so we didn't need reservations. We walked in not because we knew anything about the restaurant, but because the exterior widow advertised that the restaurant... More

We decided to forgo the beautiful views from the places on the Piazza del Campo for La Taverna di San Giuseppe, which was recommended to us. So, we had our aperitif in the Piazza first then made our way here! The food, service and quality were all excellent. We were lucky to get a table without too long a wait... More

My husband and I had lunch in La Taverna di San Giuseppe during a day we spent in Siena whilst staying in a villa nearby. We didn't do any planning in advance and just found this place on trip advisor when we got hungry, which was VERY lucky. The food was spectacularly good, the service was incredible and the setting... Make a reservation! It was fantastic and we loved everything we were served. Great atmosphere and a really cool cellar which they age meat and cheese in. If you're in Siena for just one night, this is the place I'd recommend if you're willing to shell out some cash. The food is great though so I thought it was worth... More

We honestly just STUMBLED upon this divine resto as we walked off the main square and desperately trying to find something off the beaten track. I thought we were at the end of the road with no real (tummy filling) light in sight, until right at the end of the street (coming from the Piazza) we came upon La Taverna... More
