We've done a good bit of traveling, and have had some great dining moments, but this place stands out as maybe the best ever. Owner Ercole greeted with earnest warmth and honest joy, then took excellent personal care of us, the likes of which we'd never seen. We immediately knew why Rick Steves recommends this restaurant. I find wine and... More

When you are hungry and a tourist sometimes you pick poorly and other times you get a surprise worth remembering and writing about: Ristorante Guidoriccio. We had just completed a trip around the campo and photographing the fountain of Joy when we saw the dolphin light fixtures still on the walls of this alley from the horse race the day... More

We found this tiny restaurant perched on a side street off the Piazza Campo, thanks to Rick Steves, and decided to give it a try. The owner, Ercole, greeted us warmly and immediately brought us an amuse-bouche of a divine eggplant tomato mixture that was so yummy. We then both had a plate of homemade pappardelle with wild mushrooms and... More

Upon returning to Siena one of our first stops was this wonderful gem tucked into a small street right off Piazza del Campo. Ercole, the owner, warmly greeted us just as he had in 2008 when we dined with him with our three sons. He graciously and effortlessly took care of us, suggesting food and wine selections which were all... More

Ercoli our host was wonderful making helpful suggestions but in an unobtrusive way. The food was hearty and homemade. The wine was local and well-chosen. A good place to visit to avoid some of Siena's hustle and bustle. Ercoli was generous with his time and grappa. Will visit again on our many trips to the city. Recommend without reservations.

We found this restaurant charming. The food was delicious and the server was very helpful. The restaurant is very small and quaint.

First time I dined in Guidoriccio I loved the place so much that the second night I ate there again. I loved not only the food but also restaurant and the service. The owners are very kind, they make you feel very comfortable. I had vegetable soup, it was very delicious. It's right next to the main square but isolated... More

I have lived in Italy for almost three years now and this is the best meal I have had in all of Italy. In fact while we were in Siena we had dinner here twice because it was so good! Pappa di pomodoro was the best that we found in all of Siena (it is a dish local to Siena,... More

We visited this place because of all the great reviews on this page. The ringing of the microwave oven should have had me running the moment we entered. The vaulted cellar should be nice in theory, but the dim lighting can hardly conceal the mold growing everywhere, due to the (nice and cold), but extremely damp air coming from an... More

We had such a wonderful meal at this restaurant. The setting is lovely and charming in a brick lined vault and the hosts were so friendly and fun. Had my kids laughing! The food was incredible- the picci with wild boar ragout was out of this world. My husband had a vegetable lasagna that was outstanding. For dessert I had... More
