Simple and Delicious

echoing many of the previous reviews, this is a great simple sandwich shop off the beaten path in san gimigniano. There is basically only one item on the menu and it is a delicious sandwich made with local bread, salami and cheese. they also have the local vernaccia wine. this is a great spot... read more

Appreciate the less touristy feel of the place. Great ingredients make for a great meal. Sizing is also good.

There is nothing elaborate here just very simple panini of salami and cheese. Your host will provide samples to help you decide. A welcome calm spot to chill from the crowds.

It is all true about the selection and the quality of food - perfect, organic, and in an old Tuscan way¨Also the wine - red and white from the region, organic, is worth to try for very resonable price. And the owner likes to talk - it is good if you understand some Italian as He doesnt speak any other... More

there is something magic in this place...you enter inside, and there is only one display fridge with 3 items: pecorino cheese and 2 kinds of salami..then the owner immediately but without rush gives you big slices of each to try and choose the filling to your panini, which is a simple cold sandwich but it is an explosion of taste!... It's odd to come away from somewhere with such a limited menu with such a positive sentiment but what Dal Bertelli does, it does well. Food is limited to sandwiches containing any combination of two types of salami and one type of cheese. That's really it! However the quality of ingredients is very good so the end result is really... More

We found Bertelli by looking on Trip and seeing that most reviews were in Italian. So glad that we did! This place is simplicity at its finest and proves that sometimes, less really is more. Help yourself to a beer or water from the fridge. Through pointing and smiling, tell Bertelli whether you want Salami, Cheese or both and then... More

1 room, 1 kind of bread, 1 kind of cheese, 2 kinds of salami, 8 chairs and a guy (Brunello) with a big knife. Oh I wish we could speak italian - he clearly values his stories and makes his sandwiches with love. So simple - our young kids didnt even remember to ask for butter (there isnt any) and... More
