It has been a while since we have eaten at Durando and we still dream about the meal we had there. Fabulous food, wine and service. We ordered the tasting menu and were not disappointed. Best Risotto we had throughout Italy. Enjoy!

Ristorante Dorando is a delectable spot located in the nostalgic, ancient walled city of San Gimignano. Dorando has earned a reputation as one of the best places to dine at in this quaint city and is included in the city’s Michelin Guide. The restaurant’s 14th century arched brick walls and ceiling lends it a historically gorgeous veneer. It was such... More

We ate here on our last night in San Gimignano after having tried out seven other restaurants in this town. Of all of them, this came closest to fine dining. The service was very professional and great care was taken serving the wine and water. There was a small taster before the starter came and bread was provided with no... More

The wine was good. The food service and ambiance were terrible. The first course was duck...we immediately sent it back then they brought it out again, still horrible. The broccoli was over cooked to the point it could have been baby food. The mesculine greens were not even dressed. And as for the duck it was fridge cold and lacked... More

It was the day of our departure and we stopped by for lunch at San Gimignano. After looking for many lunch places we spotted this place with a Michelin star rating! N found a nice table to sit as well. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids. As expected before we placed the order we got a... More

After reading the other ratings, we had high hopes. We were first led all the way back into a corner of the restaurant, which felt a bit strange, but perhaps it was the only available unreserved table. *shrug* We selected the Tipica tasting menu, and while the pasta was really excellent, many of the other dishes felt uninspired. We know... More

Tucked away down one of San Gimignano's side streets is this lovely little restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a table for two in light fresh room, with arched ceilings. The majority of the other diners were Italian - which I always think is a good sign when you are visiting a very touristy area! The menu is... More

Dined here for dinner, we made a reservation but the night we were here was not busy. The wine list is very extensive features fine tuscan wines, the menu is also very good and the food tastes amazing!! The sign of an excellent chef is in the preparation of the food which results in the those enjoying the meal being... More

They all agreed that it was memorable, as bring excellent. One person took a photo with the owner and sent it to us, he enjoyed it so much. Now we are back... More

Wandering around I saw this place and its menu looked very creative, so I went in for a lunch. It was a great decision, as the food exceeded all expectations. The presentations were creative and matched the tasty dishes. The service was very attentive and matched the high quality of the food. Next time that I am in San Gimignano,... More
