Off the beaten track!

This restaurant was very good and is on a side street but worth the search! I had the pici pasta with ragout of white guinea fowl with vin santo and shavings of truffle and pecorino cheese, a great combination! I'll go back my next time in Florence!

It says slow food on some sign leading to the restaurant. It really is, they are preparing it when you order it, not a day before. You have to wait for risoto for about 25 minutes but, when you get it, it is the most delicious in your life. We had a fiorentina steak, and the meat was great! And... More

We visited Dorando 2 times last year. The first time it was fabuloso. The guinea hen succulent and perfectly cooked. When we recommended it to a friend and took them the same dish was totally different & Brunhilde (not really her name but she fit it) was not very attentive or very nice when we expressed our disappointment. We thought... More

We walked in on a whim, and are glad we did. We enjoyed our meal and the accompanying wine, but I would have preferred to have outside. A restaurant in such a beautiful place as San Gimignano, should really have al fresco seating! The pasta tasted truly fresh and homemade, and I was very pleased with the food I ordered.... More

We went to this restaurant with high expectations, but, were rather disappointed. My fish was good, but, one of our party had pasta with boar meat which was quite salty. The meat dishes were okay, but, not great. The service was also okay but not great and you could tell that kids are not really welcome....So, although, the food was... More

Every went well when I and my family came by this restaurant. Good entries and meals. Everyone was happy, the pork was good and the rissoto fantastic. It deserves more attention.

Dorando', like every dining establishment in San Gimignano, survives on the tourist trade, but this is not run like a hit and run day visitor restaurant. We have dined in many San G locations, and this one is the one to return to over and over. The menu, the food, the wine list, are all the real thing. The wine... More

What a perfect end to our first day in Tuscany. The food was outstanding and the local wines from San Gimignano were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the service was very attentive but not hovering. Off the main piazza but on a quiet street.

We arrived without any real expectations without reservations and were happily surprised at the excellent meal and service. we had the duck and antipasta appetizers both were excellent. The roasted vegetables, pasta dishes and steak for the main courses were all superb esp. the vegetables. Would certainly recommend.

It has been a while since we have eaten at Durando and we still dream about the meal we had there. Fabulous food, wine and service. We ordered the tasting menu and were not disappointed. Best Risotto we had throughout Italy. Enjoy!
