Good but not enough food

The garden is very nice, and perfect for lunch in summer. However, the chairs are too warm. A pillow will help. Food is very good, but if you want just one dish, is not enough.

Unfortunately as our stay in San Gimignano was during winter almost all of the restaurants were closed. However, our dinner at La Mandragola made up for that. The service was friendly and helpful without being too intrusive. The menu offered a selection of interesting choices. I chose the stuffed rabbit "Coniglio de fattoria all maniera dell'Artusi" and it was just... More

This was a nice restaurant which served traditional Italian food at prices which were reasonable. It probably was not one of the cheaper restaurants but with the food came unlimited bread (which was delicious) and complimentary water. This appeared to be a popular restaurant as it was very busy but the staff were very accomodating and found somewhere for us... More

The food and service is exceptional in this small family run restaurant. We have eaten here numerous times on each trip have and never been disappointed. Try the ravioli....just try everything. Nicola and Andrea make each visit a memorable experience. You have to go. Love the new location.

What a great find La Mandragola was for us! We found it on our way from the Duomo to San Agostino. Lovely choices on the menu and reasonable prices. We had pecorino cheese soufflé with saffron sauce for starters (absolutely delicious!) and pici with Parmesan. Excellent Chianti reserva wine. Lovely surroundings - would be great to eat outside in the... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and it definitely stood up to our expectations. Great food and excellent service in a romantic setting.

We had a bit of a challenge finding this gem amoung the winding streets of San G. Luckily we did! The food was divine as was the wine, dessert (Tiramisu ice cream cake) and service.I had chicken tortilini with truffle and my nephew devoured the wild boar pasta. The service was also some of the best I received in Italy,... More

Dinner at this place because of many suggestions by the shops we visited on the day...most of them were pointing at this place and they did not fail us. We really enjoyed our dinner, i called to reserve and i'm happy i did so because it was full...a bit of mixed up with my name when we got there but... More

In our three weeks of traipsing through Tuscany, this was my absolutely favorite # 1 restaurant and meal! It helps that the setting is magnificent, overlooking the towers and rooftops of San Gigmignano, but from the moment we entered the property, the highly polished and professional wait staff was enthusiastically warmly welcoming and graciously solicitous to us! They were eager... More
