It was in 2001 and I hope it hasn't changed. We stayed in some apartments owned by the Peruca family, had a wonderful dinner there, closed the place down drinking grappa with the owner and the next morning when we left, we had 3 bottles of Peruca wine to take back. I am going to try to go back... read more

I was so excited about this restaurant following my reading of all the great Tripadvisor reviews but in the end I was a bit dissapointed. First, the good: The restaurant feels like an old cellar providing a nice ambiance for a romantic meal. Prices were certainly reasonable. The average: We ordered the Antipasto del buongustaio to start which was probably... More

On the menu it says "boneless rabbit" but actually it has a few small bones. It was too salty, and dry. Other dishes are ok but nothing outstanding. Wrong decision to choose this restaurant, or this dish.

We were a group of four adults with reservations on Easter Sunday. We arrived before 19:00 and the restaurant was almost empty. We were seated by the cash and asked if we could be moved and were told not possible. By 19:30, the place was very busy and turned away everyone without reservations. The service was slow and as we... More

Book your table, because everything is great and people after 20:00 waiting for an empty table. Try beef with a rosemary or something with courgete flowers. Don't forget to try verrnacia, good white wine.

The power of Trip advisor is evident in this excellent restaurant. We booked a couple of weeks ahead of our one night visit to San Gimignano knowing that we did not want to spend an evening looking for somewhere to eat having had a late arrival time. I asked for an 8 pm table but was informed that there are... More

Enjoyed excellent local food. Great friendly service and homely setting. Clever mixture of Italian flavours with a modern twist. The pear ravioli was delicious. The restaurant is tucked away so worth searching the side streets. We booked a table and enjoyed a very relaxing meal.

Best to book! Gets very busy, but if you'd like to try typical Tuscan dishes - here's the place. We had the wild boar - good and tasty! Having to pay extra for veg/potatoes makes the main course quite expensive

We enjoyed a beautiful lunch here last week. The restaurant is tucked away down a side street and inside the old vaulted cellars of the city. The food was very good, the staff friendly and professional. We were eating with our 7 year daughter who asked for a simple dish of pasta and tomato sauce (not on the menu, which... More

Are we just unlucky or do we have unattainable expectations? This is almost exactly what happened at a top restaurant in Lucca. The food was very good, service was excellent, and then we asked to see the dessert menu. 20 minutes later we're still watching 2 wait staff preparing a table for 12/14 people while all the current tables (...
