We have eaten at Peruca in past trips to this area and again this time had another two wonderful meals here in the three weeks we were in the area. Our waiter/ sommelier Andrea always takes very good care of us and makes our dining experiences here some of the best times ever. My husbsnd had the exact same meal... More

I just loved this place the best of the four that I have tried in the heart of San Gimignano. Very friendly service from Andrea, and the owner is also present and making certain that all are happy. Excellent food, generous portions and low price, what more could you ask for? Nice wine list, too. Fantastic dessert, we just said... More

This was hands-down the best gnocchi I ate on our 11 day trip through Tuscany. Very cute atmosphere. The restaurant was packed and we didn't have a reservation so we did have to wait about half an hour (it was lunchtime). The service could have been better, but the food made up for it.

I expect that in the season it is impossible to just show up, but in October we found ourselves wondering what and where to eat and 'this looks good, let's try it' ended up working better than it often does. A lovely (pleasantly quirky) room, and the service warm, friendly and professional. The antipasti were generous and good, and the... More

Peruca was recommended to us by our inn keeper at the fabulous albergo Guardestelle. We had made reservations earlier in the day (recommended!) and sauntered into town for dinner. We loved this little place. Fairly standard Tuscan fare in a warm, buzzing, and thoroughly charming setting. I had long-cooked boar (cinghale) stew, which tasted like something mama might make for... We could not get in the first nite of our visit to SanGimignamo so we made reservations for the following nite Very busy and noisy, but that is part of the charm. My pasta was excellent, while the steak dish was a bit tough and had a lot of fat chewy pieces. The local wine was excellent. Service was OK, but... More

We visited San Gimignano in Sep 2014 and Peruca was recommended by our hosts. The place was very crowded so we were lucky we had a reservation. Good and authentic food, I had the home-made pasta and it was really good. Reasonably priced restaurant, however, we were a bit disappointed with respect to the service as we had to ask... More

In San Gimignano, it is not easy to find a simple local eatery offering authentic food at reasonable prices. Peruca may not be an ideal place, but is a good choice in a city full of tourist traps. The food is really very good, the prices not low but acceptable, and the atmosphere nice. The staff is the only drawback... More

One look into this restaurant and we knew we had to eat there. Luckily we were early as we did not have a reservation and it filled up rapidly. We ate wonderfully well, and were looked after with great care and attention. The sommelier was particularly impressive, as I have rarely seen such a complicated ritual of preparing our wine... More
