The " Osteria dei Cavalieri " (The knight’s tavern) is situated in the historical heart of Pisa, a few steps away from the homonymous square and from the famous Piazza dei Miracoli, in a setting full of alleys where time seems to have stood still. In the Osteria it is still possible to leave the table with a festive feeling, captured not only through a meal but also through the enjoyed experience. A place that unites, in a relaxing and warm atmosphere, the most sincere tuscan dishes and refined, always creatively interpreted gastronomical suggestions.A working meal where you talk and in the meantime taste typical dishes while trying creative and inventive combinations made according to the strongest cooking tradition of Tuscany. A pleasant dinner in which you’ll be captured step by step by flavors and solutions offered by the chef and staff of the Osteria dei Cavalieri. All of this is possible in the historical heart of the city of Pisa, a few steps away from the marvellous Piazza dei Cavalieri, the famous tower and Piazza dei Miracoli. The entrance hall of the restaurant is the base of a tower house of 1200.The tables are framed by a characteristic stone ledge: light is shadowing, becomes misty and intimate, thus favouring conversation. In such an environment it is not difficult to lose oneself in unique wine and gastronomic experience. For sure this will grant the occasional visitor a memory, as is the case with the locals, who return time after time in the certainty of being surprised once again. The dishes and menus of the Osteria are born in a climate of perfect balance between innovation and tradition combined with a remarkable choice from a winecellar rich in discoveries and grand classics.

What a find! We were so pleased we booked this place for our one night in Pisa. It opens at 7.45pm. It was a Monday night in July and absolutely packed to the gunnels. The staff are so lovely. The waiter and waitress both assisted us with our rudimentary Italian, including our 12 year old son who loves ordering for... More

They know what they're doing at the Osteria dei Cavalieri and everything is just right. In three visits for a late-ish dinner (9pm) after late flights into Pisa, we've had a warm welcome to Tuscany each time. Food, wine and service are all good and prices are reasonable. It's a good place for fish; we've not been disappointed with any... More

We went here for my birthday meal and are so glad we chose it. (It features in one of the small DK guide books on Florence and Tuscany) Quite simply it was one of the best meals we've ever had. Food cooked to perfection, wonderful menu, delicious wine, good service. It really doesn't get much better.

We brought friends along for our third visit to Osteria dei Cavalieri and were not disappointed. This lovely low key restaurant is a find in the heart of tourist Pisa. Venture a short stroll from Piazza dei Miracoli, just steps from the beautiful Piazza dei Cavalieri and pedestrian Borgo Stretto, where you can stop beforehand at one of the outdoor... More

We went to this restaurant because of a recommendation from our hotel. We made reservations and were thankful we did. This restaurant had a waiting line of locals at 8pm. The food and service were outstanding and we would definitely go back. The menu was a tuscan menu and the server was helpful with English

This is the first TA review I have ever written. The food and atmosphere are fine, a 4 I would say, see other reviews. However, I am at visiting at one of the local universities that has an arrangement with several local restaurants, including this one. One asks for a ricevuto fiscale and they are to bill the university directly.... More

There was a party of 5, and for the most part we really enjoyed the food in this restaurant. The Ragu was a little disappointing but the remaining anti pasta and pasta dishes were very good. Service was excellent as well. We didn't have a huge meal, but we were more than satisfied with the quality of the food. Clean... More

The title says it all - nice friendly welcome (even though we were the first customers of the evening), helpful waitress who translated when my Italian failed and the ragu of wild boar was gorgeous

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, a wonderful chef and some beautifully presented fresh fish. Always busy, need to book.
