Very nice place somewhere in Pisa...))) I did not know that is has any Tripadviser`s awards.. We were just walking the streets with my friend and found it in one of the lanes....I like most of all that nobody spoke English there... I guess the man who serve us was the owner of this place, he spoke only Italian. It... More

Hidden in the University of Pisa quarter right off the Lungo Arno is run by the family with a long restaurant tradition. Absolute freshness is guaranteed by the simplest menu. Fish or Terra, each consisting of three courses. Nothing else is served with the exception of several home made deserts. We more than enjoyed a mushroom menu with fresh ovoli... More

We came across Osterio del Violino by chance while looking for a lunch stop. We usually avoid places that are nearly empty but this was lunchtime and we found ourselves drawn in. What a find! Friendly personal service and a "meat or fish?" Menu. We went with the flow and had a fabulous, memorable experience with great food and wine.... More

We've eaten at the Osteria del Violino twice, once with a group and once by ourselves. In both cases, we were impressed by the high quality of both cuisine and service. The wood fire was very welcome on the cold and rainy nights on which we visited. The choice of set menus, which seems to bother some reviewers, permits the... More

Came across it hunting for a place to eat. Owners English as good as my Italian but enough to be able to order. I had fish meal, partner had the meat option. Absolutely excellent! He had mix of salamis & olives to start; I had a mixed plate of mussels, eel stew and a scallop baked in sauce. Then he... More

It was the first place we visited in our trip through Tuscany, and it was a wonderful beginning. The place was not full with tourist, the prices were okay and the food was awesome! The best was the personal treatment we got by the owner, it made the whole experience unforgettable.

First off, it is hard to find a decent place in Pisa, which is not packed with tourists (which makes you doubt the quality of the food up front). After searching for about an hour, we found this little gem, quite empty (4pm) but with a nice atmosphere and very good prices. The waiter was very kind and engaged in... More

Great service, even better food. The owner makes you feel right at home. Found this place accidentally while backpacking through Pisa with my friends and had our best meal in Italy. Great ambient music to eat to. From Los Angeles.
