We had several people suggest this restaurant. The food was nice, not outstanding but nice. The interior is pleasant, location good.

We wanted something special during our trip to Pisa and so choose the San Paolo, located on a side street not too far from our hotel. The service and décor were both quite good, and both of us enjoyed our meal. I had the seabass and my wife the fritti misti. We paid a bit more than we expected, but... More

A the previous review has stated the food is top notch however the service is pretty poor. The waiters are friendly and helpful however they just leave it too long in-between seeing if you are ready to order, ready for more wine etc. This place would be so much better with a little more attention to detail.

Great food, but staff did not manage to serve. Everything took a long time, waiters wandered around without any purpose and we wondered if maybe they were high..

Glad we went slightly off the beaten track to San Paolo. The little restaurant was worth looking for. The staff were friendly and the meal was delicious, homemade and the portions were excellent. Although it was quiet the evening that we were there, there was still a nice atmosphere.

Recommend by our hotel so we thought we would give it a try. Nice setting good staff food was good but the wife's steak was a bit chewy. Not sure if that was how it is done here but wasn't To our liking. My pasta dish however was superb!!!

We had a happy experience overall at Osteria San Paolo. The food wasn't quite as good as expected. The steak I had (tagliata) had a heck of a lot of gristle through it, however very well cooked. My wife's Crusted Tuna was HUGE, and with very little crust, so a bit bland and too much Tuna. The desert we had... More

We accidentally found this place on the first night of our trip and were deeply impressed by the place, the ambiance, the delightful greeting we got from the proprietor and the exemplary service. Then we ordered our food and wine and were again very impressed by the overall quality and service. We were offered and took the complimentary liqueurs with... More

I ate in 3 of Pisa's top 10 restaurants (as per Trip Advisor reviews) in May 2014. This food was BY FAR the best. My fillet steak was huge ( no really, it was immense!) fat-free and perfectly cooked. Staff were professional, courteous and respectful. I felt that the atmosphere was not as lively as in other restaurants we ate... More

We found this place via"near me" from our hotel and booked for 9pm it was a Monday evening in May so a little quiet but the food was delightful. My seafood soup was a sight to behold. I must have had over 100 different items of shellfish. Some so tiny you couldn't open them but what an amazing sight in... More
