I had some restaurant list from reviews in TripAdvisor, but the ones i liked were a bit far from the main touristic attraction in Pisa. With kids we decided to walk and check what is where... After we were pulled by waiters from "touristic" bars/restaurants: "table for four persons?" or "want to have dinner for four?" etc... and suddenly I... More

We visited Il Peperoncino as a family of 5 and were welcomed by the friendliest family-owned restaurant we have visited over our last 17 days in Tuscany and Elba. The food was freshly-prepared and presented to us with great care and pride by the owner and his daughter. He put us all at ease, particularly the children. We ate Bruschetta... More

We needed to eat dinner quickly to catch our train back to Florence. Loved this little place - great food, owner with a good sense of humor, reasonably priced. Kids said they thought this was the best pizza they had in Italy so far, I really enjoyed vegetarian risotto and fagioli. Overall - one of the best meals we had... More

On our last night in Pisa we came across this place after the restaurant we intended to go to wasn't available. I had the Tagliatelle alla bolognese whilst my girlfriend had spaghetti carbonara. We both agreed it was the best food we have had in Pisa so far. The highlight though was the charming and funny waiter who made our... More

On a baking hot day- our last in Italy we came across Il Peperoncino while we were waiting for our booked slot to visit the Duomo. While other restaurants tried to give us the hard sell to entice us in, the owner of Il Perperoncino told us simply that it ia a family all his food was freshly cooked and... More

Beautiful meal, fantastic service. We had a pasta as recommended by the friendly host and it was the best we've tasted world over. The host and waitress provided the mostly friendly service we have experienced in Italy.

What a surprise! In a sea of tourist trap restaurants, we found a jewel of a restaurant run by a wonderful man Donato Pucci and his lovely wife (the excellent chef in the kitchen!). We were wow'd by the lovely fish soup and our kids devoured the minestrone. The spaghetti bolognese and lasagne were to die for - lovely evening... More

OMG - this was the best meal ever! You have to go here when in Pisa. The best service we have had so far in Italy and we felt so welcome. We got pizza and pasta and for starters we got a little bit of different Italian food. Everything was so great and we would definitely come back another time.... More

After visiting Pisa world heritage site my friends and I were trying to avoid falling in one of numerous tramps for tourists. Finding this restaurant was a blessing. We had a extraordinary dinner, served by a most charming owner who recommended us the best of his cuisine. I specially enjoyed the cacciucco (a slowly brewed shellfish soup) and the fish.... More
