This food was the best. The menu was only in Italian, but the waitresses were kind enough to help us figure out what to order. There weren't that many options for vegetarians or pescetarians, but that was not important, because in the end, the food was extremely delicious. On our two week trip in Italy, my family considered this to... More

We actually remembered to check tripadvisor before selecting a restaurant, and thank you very much to all the people who wrote good reviews. You were spot on! The meat dishes were wonderful, the bread was fresh, the pasta homemade, and the wine complemented the food. All the desserts were homemade, including the ice cream. Our hostess - who may have... We found this place on Tripadvisor and since it was walking distance from where we got hungry (MacDonalds .-) we gave it a try. And we did not regret this, friendly staff, delicious food, even the drinks (wine and water from the house) were great. Wonderful experience!!!

From booking via attracting their attention through the window, although closed; our table - not ' in the window'....not sure what these reviewers are on about, all tables make up the great atmosphere and ambience of the place - to our excellent service and the food and home-made wine which I can only describe as 'exquisite'. We don't speak any... More

We had difficulty choosing and the waitress was very helpful in giving us ideas. The plates were beautifully presented. My husband had a cold-cut plate where hot bread cubes that tasted a bit like salty doughnuts made this a very special plate. We all loved that bread. My cheese plate had 3 types of pecorino and they were all delicious,... More

We arrived at noon and were told that the place opened at 12:30. We made a reservation and came back at 12:25. My kids were tired and sat on the ground outside waiting for 12:30. We could see people inside walking around and they obviously saw us waiting. I would have expected them to welcome us at 12:30 sharp. We... More

Having read the reviews about La taverna di Emma we agree with all of them (except the one that recommends McDonalds) so far this triple have tended to eat in the road side tavernas and been very happy. We were a bit nervous of the cost of eating in a "proper" taverna as we have found food quite pricey this... More

I was looking for a nice place to eat when I went to Pisa and found this here in Tripadvisor. Both the fact that it was highly appreciated by the writers and the fact that my name is Emma made it an easy choice to go here. Plus it wasn't far from the tower. I had a great pasta with... More

This restaurant was recommended at our B+B, especially for the pasta, which is made fresh daily. The menu was in Italian only, which was a little awkward....but it IS in Italy!!! There are plenty of places that have English versions of the menu or English "subtitles", but I think that defeats a little of the adventure of visiting a foreign... More
