This restaurant serves some of the best food we have ever eaten. We ate at this place twice during our stay in pisa and both times we received excellent home made pasta, with great flavours. There is a great selection of dishes such as home made pasta, meat, meat and cheese boards and traditional italian food. The service is great... More

This came on good recommendation from a native Tuscan -- said it was one of the few places in Pisa she would eat if looking for a meal out. And it was one of the most memorable meals we've had together. The staff was friendly and helpful. The owner/chef visited with patrons, often delivering plates to the table himself. The... More

We were so lucky to get a table here - our last night of the trip, with no reservation at peak time on a Saturday night. Fortunately, we walked just a little bit more quickly than the couple who followed us in, and who were turned away. Their loss was our huge gain. This place is wonderful - delicious antipasti,... We thought we get stuck with tourist dives but then found Emma using the 'near me' feature on Trip Advisor. Great food, the best we had all week in Tuscany. Inventive, beautifully prepared and well served. It's a small place so make a reservation. Busy street, we walked so not sure what parking is like. The people who own and... More

This restaurant was an absolute delight, situated at the back of the Cathedral and Tower it was a genuine Italian restaurant. We arrived at 8 as it opened with no booking but were welcomed and seated and watched the place fill up with Italians. We were given a bag of various delicious breads and the handwritten menu in Italian. Luckily... More

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel. I wish I knew to make reservations as they are a must if you wish to have full relaxing meal. However, I rolled the dice and arrived as they opened for dinner. They were able to accommodate a table for 3 provided we did not sit too long. Everything is fresh! Staff is... More

I was surprised to find a restaurant with such delicious and local food so close the Piazza dei Miracoli! This was our first dinner on our trip to Italy and we didn't find better tasting pasta dishes anywhere else in Pisa, Florence or Rome

Pisa is awash with pizza and pasta restaurants, mostly ok. However there seems to be a dearth of restaurants serving locally sourced produce. (They will exist but must be tucked away for the locals). La Taverna di Emma is an exception. Located five minutes from the Tower, along a main road with nothing particular of note around. There was a... More

Two of us ate at Emma's on night 2 of our 8 night stay in Italy, and no where compared to it afterwards. Unfortunately we had been unable to make a reservation through the day but I was so glad we decided to wait for them to seat us at 9pm based on the good reviews on here. Not only... More
