Tripadvisor alerted us to this restaurant. It is close to the Field of Miracles, but unless you know where it is, you likely wouldn't find it. The extensive menu is in Italian, but one of the waitresses is quite fluent in English and walks you through it. Shortly after ordering, a paper bag full of several varieties of bread arrives;... This restaurant was full of local people, which is always a very good indication of how good a restaurant is in a tourist city. There was no menu outside and everyone inside seemed to have lots of plates and bottles of wine, so being budget travellers our stomachs just dropped, assuming that this place was going to be really expensive.... 4 servings of pasta, 2 bottles of water, 1/4 lt. of wine, a meat dish, a plate of cheese and 4 coffees .... euro 95 ... a bit too much because the meat dish was not goid at all.

We came across this place by chance. Six locals were waiting outside for opening time,as we passed the staff opened up so we decided to try it,good decision! We had no reservation but were given a table in the small part near the front door. Very authentic and simply furnished ,menu in italian and pretty staff! Patience and help with... More

Taverna di Emma is not a luxury but very nice place. Menù is limited as in all restaurant where the meal is home made. Entries , pasta and meat are all very tasty and good. The environment is simple and the personnel is friendly. Feel home. Prices very reasonable. I went for dinner and lunch in both occasion I was... More

Following 5* reviews I took advice and pre booked this tiny restaurant prior to arriving in Pisa with 7 girl friends, you cannot have a party in there as it is tiny, but boy can you have a great meal, The menu is in Italian but the waitresses translate and make spag bol sound exquisite and it was. bags of... Really love restaurant used by locals as much as tourists. Very busy but easy to understand why. Proper home cooked meals. Not fancy (check out that weird brick ceiling) but clean and comfortable and fabulous food which is what matters. Very reasonably priced. Good cheap wine. The homemade bread is fabulous especially the poppy seed one. We had booked as... More

Great place with excellent food and a friendly welcome. Homemade bread is delicious as was everything else we tried. Priced very reasonably. Will definitely return next time in Pisa.

I've had a lot of amazing meals in a lot of amazing restaurants and I have to say that La Taverna Di Emma is right up there. We went here after the obligatory tower-viewing based on the tripadvisor rating, it's about three minutes walk from the Campo Dei Miracoli complex. It opens for lunch and dinner(doors open at 8 for... More

Home made pasta like we rarely had in Italy. Very cosy decor, a little away from the main piazza. to go there you walk in front of a few trattorias, and they are empty : you arrive in Emma's and you realise why it's full - locals and tourists alike eat there. Go if you have an evening in Pisa... More
