We went after reading great reviews on trip advisor. Unfortunately we both found it a let down. One of the waitresses failed the smile - she was very abrupt - we felt pressure to be quick when dealing with her. I ordered the carbonara which was so eggy - it sadly was the worst meal I have had in Italy.... More

We had great service, wine and food. The Panzerolti, salami e proscucutto crudo appetizer was so delicious! The staff was very helpful considering the menu was in Italian.

This little eatery is better than advertised and it had high ratings to begin with. On your way there you feel skeptical because the neighborhood doesn't look that great and the outside of restaurant does not at indicate the quality inside. The decor is cute and comfortable, but not special. However, the food is fabulous and the service very friendly... More

A really genuine Italian Restaurant with good food. We went back another night, which is rare for us as we like to try different places whilst travelling. Make sure you book as it gets very full and turning up you may not get a table. A definite must to visit if you are in Pisa!

dining at La Taverna di Emma was a very nice experience which I will remember for quite a long time! Booking is highly recommended since this is a very famous restaurant. I visited Pisa in December and though it was raining quite heavily the place was filled quite quickly. After we sat, we were served the menus, home made bread... More

In this place we had just the starters: five huge plates of typically Tuscan beef, cold cuts and cheeses wisely arranged with other typical Italian foods. The starters are more than one course, and at the end we were so satiated that we decided to go just for the dessert.

Just a few metres away from Piazza del duommo and the leaning tower, this is the best and most Italian restaurant we've been to. Bread, wine and pasta are home made and we spent as few as 34Eur for a superb meal for two. Definitely recommended if you want to taste the real Italian flavour!

Tripadvisor alerted us to this restaurant. It is close to the Field of Miracles, but unless you know where it is, you likely wouldn't find it. The extensive menu is in Italian, but one of the waitresses is quite fluent in English and walks you through it. Shortly after ordering, a paper bag full of several varieties of bread arrives;... This restaurant was full of local people, which is always a very good indication of how good a restaurant is in a tourist city. There was no menu outside and everyone inside seemed to have lots of plates and bottles of wine, so being budget travellers our stomachs just dropped, assuming that this place was going to be really expensive.... 4 servings of pasta, 2 bottles of water, 1/4 lt. of wine, a meat dish, a plate of cheese and 4 coffees .... euro 95 ... a bit too much because the meat dish was not goid at all.
