As others have commented the outward appearance is very off putting, but inside it is all very well decorated and very clean. The food was excellent as was the wine and the service. Our waiter (and I guess the owner) was a very dry humoured chap. Great entertainment for some of his muttered asides. The area this restaurant is in,... More

We had dinner there on Saturday June 13 based on comments we found here. It was terrific. The food was well cooked and presented. The host recommended a local wine and I wish we had the name as we truly enjoyed it and now would buy some to bring home. The host joked with us and made the evening even... More

Down a side street you may not be attracted by the surroundings. However, don't let this stop you. There is a great menu with lots of choice for those wanting something different. Pasta, risotto, fish, steak etc. available. We had main courses and a sharing desert recommended by the excellent waiter. You should visit if you want to relax and... More

We loved this place! Very friendly service. Beautifully cooked fresh food. Quite an extensive menu and very reasonable prices. We immediately decided to visit agin before leaving Pisa. In fact, we may just return every night!

We had just arrived in Pisa and had decided, on the recommendation of an acquaintance, that we try Lo Schiaccianoci. Arriving just on Midday, I don’t think they were quite ready for us. However, using my pigeon Italian (or “pig-e-on, oink, oink” as Manuel would say Yes, I know he’s Spanish but it’s the best analogy I could come up... More

We decided to try this place after reading some recommendations on trip advisor and I'm pleased we did. We went early and were looked after with great service, not Italian speakers we were helped with our selections and were all pleased with our meals. The mixed grilled meats on rocket salad was very tasty. For dessert we took the chefs... More

For a short visit to Pisa, I found this restaurant, close to the central train station. We arrived just before the 1900 and were seated immediately upon the opening. The ambience is nice and Giovanni took great care of the four of us. He chose the appropriate antipasti dishes (3 or 4) and 2 bottles of very nice Chardonnays. We... More

We must have walked past the restaurant a few times before we had a look in. When we did the place was full of Italians having lunch. We had a lovely pasta allo scoglio and a risooto with ink followed by two meat dishes. At the end of the meal the owner even offered us a grappa and an amaro.... More
