Having a day to kill in Pisa en route from Sardinia to London, we decided to find a decent lunch as we would be travelling across evening meal time and decided that Ryanair cuisine was not to our taste. We had stayed in Pisa several years before and eaten well by choosing restaurants away from the main tourist area around... More

We walked into an older part of Pisa looking for a non tourist meal and came across Al Signor Mimmo. When we arrived at about 20:00 it was empty, but the butchers paper menu out the front looked interesting. The staff are very pleasant and helped us to work our way through the Italian menu card to find what is... More

The Sherriff and his Lady found this place by chance on a wet Saturday evening. It is tucked away with little to distinguish it from many of the small restaurants in Pisa. Inside, however, a small team of young people offer friendly service and imaginative use of local produce. The prices are very reasonable - not the cheapest in town... More

Our first day in Pisa we took a quick trip to Viareggio where we had a nice dinner along the prmenade. We arrived back in Pisa around ten and after walking a bit decided we needed some dessert. As we were walking down an alley-street, we noticed a small oasis of plants surrounding some tables filled with a nice looking... More

loads of choice and the most delicious pasta at reasonable prices with fab service, staff speaking good english, so nice we went back another night and although the meal i asked for was no longer on the specials menu, they made it for me anyway. Although they only serve wine, water or beer, the food is well worth a visit.

Read much good about this so called "hidden gem". But now learned much about expectation and what you are used to when you rank a restaurant. We are a small family (2adults 1kid,13y) that travel and eat a lot on restaurants. Always try to get off the beaten path to find the good, normally priced ones. Last year we travelled... More

Yum! My parter and I went here after reading some of the reviews here-and people weren't wrong! It was delicious find amongst a sea of pizza cafe's (and was one of the few resteraunts that did not serve pizza). We had the vegetarian taster plate for entree to share, which consisted of a number of delicious items), and wild boar... More

Finding any type of quality restaurant in Pisa proved challenging during our recent 3 night stay. We found Al Signor Mimmo by accident after plodding the streets for what seemed like ages - and what very pleasant surprise. The food was exceptional - local specialities with a "rustic" feel. The beef cooked in red wine with mashed potatoe is highly... More
