We only discovered 'Gli Orti' on our last night in Lucca, and wished we had known about it earlier. Many Tuscan restaurants offer versions of the same menu, which can be a little basic, but Gli Orti takes things up a notch with Italian cooking of refinement and imagination. For example, as a starter I had zucchini flowers stuffed with... More

We were recommended this restaurant by elena our tour guide. We loved it. They only use organic seasonal vegetables the flavours were perfect. I ordered spaghetti with swordfish and cherry tomatoes and my husband had roasted goat which was the winner! We only regret not having an extra night to go there again. Lovely noisy atmosphere in a family friendly... More

Really enjoyed our meal at Gli Orti, which was recommended by friends as well as the hotel staff. Enjoyed the unfussy yet efficient service. There were so many dishes to choose from. We both settled for the roast goat- new to us - and it was absolutely delicious! Pasta and soup also lovely! I could not mange desert but my... More

We have lived over five years in Italy. Gli Orti has a charming interior, and the staff was great. However, we experienced one of the worst meals we've ever had in Italy. Not sure why. Nothing was good.

I actually ate here two times while in Lucca and had great meals and wines both times. This is a great option because you can have some really creative Italian specialties or keep it simple and have a wonderful pizza. I had a fantastic pumpkin torte with chicken livers as an appetizer and roasted goat as a entrée with the... More

This restaurant was booked by our hotel because we had only arrived in Lucca that evening and what a wonderful choice. We ate in the back room which is strange being similar to a conservatory but surrounded by walls about 2 feet from the glass. The food, wine and atmosphere was brilliant, full of Italian families having dinner on Sunday... More

This restaurant was near our B&B so we discovered it by walking by. We ate there twice. The first time my wife and I both had pizza. The topping was gorgonzola and slice pears. It turned out to be a great combination. The restaurant is known for pizza and its reputation is well deserved. We also ate their on New... More

My wife and I dined here in October 2013 when we were on a thirty day tour of Italy and I must say out of all the places we dined Gli Orti di via Elisa was in the top three. This is a great looking restaurant, spotlessly clean and plenty of elbow room at the table and frequented by many... More

Ristorante Gli Orti di Via Elisa has a very relaxing and intimate atmosphere. It is quite spacious inside, and even when it is crowded, you can still converse with the individuals at your table and hear them clearly. I had the roast goat with vegetables. It was delicious. I don't know how they prepared the beans but they were absolutely... More

i really don't remember how we found about this place, but we sort of stumbled on the location and enjoyed a lovely meal. We also met an interesting American woman who tuned us in to many other things in and out of town. The food was lovely and the service very attentive. It felt very much like a neighborhood restaurant... More
