We had a very pleasant evening here - watching the locals and tourists go by, and eating some very nice Tuscan food. The food is simple and rustic - it's not elaborate, but it is good value and full of flavour. The service was slow to start off with, but fine once the staff had spotted that we we there.... More

Came here 12 years ago when it was a typical family trattoria, rarely visited by anglophones, but Lucca has changed, as has this establishment. Still has a typical Tuscan menu, including local specialties such as Ministre Farro (soup). Head east down sta Croce, through the medieval gate and across the fossa. A quieter area of the city. Then burn off... More

Delicious food, good service, nice setting, affordable. I can definitely recommend this restaurant. I was especially impressed by the good service, something that is not found very often in Italy.

The first night we went they had a power cut so we ate by candlelight, even though it was not a romantic evening. The food and service were good. the menu looked to have some interesting items they couldn't serve because they had no power. Went back a couple of days later for lunch. I usually don't eat at the... We have been seated in nice air-conditioned room and 4 of us shared both starters and main. Not very typical in Italy but servers coped great with it. Everything was very good but goat will be long remembered!

This ristorante was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. We returned three times in our seven nights' stay in Lucca because it was so good. Situated on a quieter street in Lucca, the ambience is sublime and the staff are very welcoming. The food is excellent, be it pasta, pizza or other fayre. The service is attentive and... More

The service was good my girls had Pizza which they said was good. My wife had a pulled pork dish which she too enjoyed. I was the only one to order... More

When in Lucca a visit to this restaurant is a must. My family had porchetta and roasted potatoes and I had the grilled pork steak. Look at the pictures. They speak for themselves. The vegetarian in the group had risotto and grilled veg. Yum! Yum! Super yum! Go enjoy. Their sister restaurant ,Gigliois, near piazza Napoleone is equally as good... More

We have stayed in Lucca three times and each time we are drawn back to this wonderful restaurant. This is not just some other pizzeria - it is where the locals go for dinner. What you get for your money is a lovely family & friends atmosphere with a wide range of choices on the menu, from pasta dishes to... More
