so good we went twice in a week

We first visited this fantastic restaurant 2 years ago and am pleased to report it is as good now as it was back then. Fast forward to June 2015, and we arrived late on a Saturday night, had not made a reservation, and though they were full, Eleanore rustled up a table for us and squeezed us in... read more

Our hotel recommended this restaurant to us and looking around Lucca it seemed to be unique in that the back garden was peaceful and beautiful and away from the hustle and bustle of Lucca and the many tourists. On both our visits on the same day, we were looked after by charming and attentive staff and the food was really... More

This restaurant has amazing Tuscan food served in a beautiful, candlelit, terrace garden. The atmosphere is romantic and friendly and the food is refined and delicious. I can't recommend it highly enough - we wish it could be our local restaurant!

Reading the menus in Italy, they all seem to have the same choices with only a little variation. This place is different. The chef has been trained in France and Switzerland, but Lucca is his home. The food is prepared with imagination and five star presentation. Good wine list and good suggestions from the waiter. We enjoyed our evening so... More

Took Mr. Steves recommendation to try this place...had had been there a few days earlier. Ate in the lovely garden. Started with warm bread and olive oil. Ordered the antipasta plate and the pasta of the day. Delicious penne in a mushroom sauce. Great food and delicious local wine. Located in the neighborhood behind the wall/amphitheater.

I had the same experience as some of the other reviewers: I tried to make reservations for inside (which is air conditioned), and was told there were no tables available. After our meal in the courtyard that evening we walked back through an almost empty interior (at a respectable "Italian dining time" of 9PM). My theory is that the interior... More

We were passing this place when we noticed it had a covered garden at the back which is easy to miss. They had a fixed price lunch menu so we dived in. Place is amazing, food and service was great. This place is a gem of a find, try it for yourself.

Near the Anfiteatro, this restaurant is one we would have walked past if not aware of it on Tripadvisor. Very pleasant garden for a nice lunch.
