Good food, good prices

Da Leo was recommended by our airbnb host, and being only a few minutes walk from the apartment we thought that we should give it a go. The service was prompt without being over the top, the food arrived just as promptly, but not to feel that it had been prep repaired, and had been left... read more

We were wandering through the shops of Lucca and wanting to eat with the locals and found this place...it was awesome! I'm into trying new things and ordered capellini soup as a starter, rabbit with olives and polenta (all familiar but rabbit) for the main dish, tiramisu for dessert, topped with house wine. Flavorful!! I so wish I could have... More

This is a really charming place for those looking for local flavor. The cook talks to all the guests as they enter or leave and there's a wonderful female major domo that is really animated in a kind of Felliniesque way. The waiters, too, are wonderfully friendly and the food, the food is incredible. It's home cooking at its best... More

The food is all local cuisine and you get ample servings. The food is excellent for the price. Great value! This not the place to impress guests. It is very busy, especially at lunch, the main meal in Italy. You won't be disappointed, unless there are no tables available! Mangia!

We had been wandering around Lucca for a couple hours and it was time for lunch. TripAdvisor had a number of recommending reviews for Trattoria da Leo, and we had experience with its familial cousin, Butalli Antica, some years ago. Maps were not especially helpful in our quest for da Leo, but somehow we stumbled on it and were pleased... More

This is such a lovely place to spend the evening with food and friends. The menu was handwritten and everything was fresh and seasonal. Wonderful pasta dishes. I would eat there every day if I could.

Just a couple of minutes from our hotel. Extremely friendly staff. Veal in chianti....to die for! Unusual but delicious fried rabbit with fried cauliflower. Good local beer. All served in a wonderfully eccentric decorated restaurant! Inexpensive. Cash only but not a problem to us. Great atmosphere.

Enjoyed a dinner here with a 25 person tour group and though seated inside (and even without the noise from our group) it was still a bit noisy for easy conversation. The service was prompt and pleasant, our meal and the house wine was better than the average. Most of the other diners appeared to be locals, and because it... More

I`ve eaten here on a few different trips, the place is always busy, I always found the food to be very good, very authentic. My problem is with the overcharging of the menu items on the bill. I`ve noticed the older woman, waitress, probably a family member I`m guessing, always waited on me, she is friendly, but the last two... More
