Decent food, service, prices, and ambiance are what you'll find at Leo's. The main dining room -- in an old palace-- is spacious and pleasant, without being really attractive. It's a well-run, middle-of-the-road establsihment. Lots of regulars eat there, because the prices are fair and food s'd good home cooking. You can't go wrong, and you won't be blown away.

We were reccomended to go here by a local bar owner when we asked for a non tourist place to eat. We liked it so much we went back the next night! On entering I absolutley knew it felt right when you can see a few old Italian ladies in the kitchen stirring and preparing wonderful smelling food. We were... More

You know that you have found a great place to eat when you are surrounding by locals. The atmosphere is wonderful and so is the service. The food is traditional tuscan food and delicious. Make sure not to pass up the after meal grappa or limoncello that they offer free of charge. I have eaten at the Trattoria da Leo... More

I found Trattoria da Leo on the Lonely Planet guide and, as usual, the recommendation was great. We arrived pretty late for an Italian lunch (it was 2 pm) and the restaurant was still very crowded. We asked for a table and the owner was very friendly, in 10 minutes we got a table. I had a typical spelt soup... More

We ate here twice during our stay in Lucca. The first was to meet friends and we joined people waiting for the place to open for dinner. We were quite quickly seated. Friends were keen to try spelt dishes, the produce from the area. Food was very good and we were aware we were seated with locals; always a good... More

The trattoria was closed the night before for dinner however, it was open for lunch so we stopped in. It was a great place to have lunch in Lucca. The food was good. There was not anything special or spectacular about the food or restaurant. Just a good place for lunch.

We had this place on our" to go to list"and it did not disappoint .The food was good, honest and served very quickly. A place locals frequent more than visitors just get there early.

Ate here 12 OCT 14 with a friend. We ate inside but there is nice outdoor seating if it is available. Good family restaurant inside the walls of Lucca, located just few meters from Piazza San Michele. Our meal was delicious (Melazane all' appetitosa; Carpaccio; and Arista arrosta con patate arrosto.) Nice large servings. Ask for specials and they do... More

This is a family place with wonderful food. It is cozy inside, but we sat outside to see the passing scene. Wonderful Tuscan selections. I had a bean and faro soup that was excellent.
