The restaurant "A Palazzo" is located in San Giusto Brancoli, about 10 km fromthe center of Lucca, on the beautiful hills that surround the city. The palace takesits name from the peasant culture of Brancoleria as it was the residence ofa Lord of the area. The old farmhouse, dating back to the eleventh century, shows a stone structureand has been completely restored maintaining the period features. The entire cottage overlooks the beautiful valley of the Serchio which, combined withthe tastycuisine of Lucca makes this place beautiful and unique.

We had a family dinner here on a Friday evening in July. Beautiful setting with views down the valley to Lucca. Set in an old villa with a great terrace. Bizarrely we were the only people there all evening! (7.30-9.30) friendly and helpful staff. Delicious and well presented food. It is a 30 minute drive from Lucca, the last 10-15... More

excellent dinner, typical appetizer and pasta dishes excellent. Much appreciated tordelli with cod and steak: huge and delicious, cooked perfectly! only flaw: the menu is written in Italian, but the waitress translates directly to the table. We had dinner on the terrace, spectacular views and we were served with kindness and attention. A great treatment and the cost is really... More

A short drive from Lucca and you will find yourself in the Lucca hills, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, 1,000 year-old churches and idyllic villages.... far, far away from the tourist track. If you sit outside, you will have exceptional views of Lucca, whereas if you decide to go in you will be in an authentic historical palace. The food... More

Several Australian friends and myself have just spent four wonderful weeks in Tuscany. The food highlight of our trip was the cuisine at A Palazzo. Both the chef and his front-of-house were attentive to our every need, as well as patient with our attempts at Italian. Some of the menu highlights included wild boar, goose breast, crab pasta, as well... More

Grazie, Grazie, Grazie Graziano! My husband, two friends and myself had the pleasure of eating at Palazzo last night and enjoyed one of the best meals of our entire trip. Every dish was fresh and delicious from the venison appetizer to the incredible desserts and ending with Graziano's homemade Arancello! The restaurant has changed hands at the end of 2012. The new owner/chef has changed the menu substantially , but the food we ate was excellent. Delicious spaghetti with rabbit and a perfectly cooked steak - fine grilled vegetables and to finish, an excellent hazelnut semi freddo. Good house wines, a lovely cosy room and the best views in the... More

Me and my husband were celebrating 20 years of wedded bliss and chose this restaurant to celebrate it in. We were welcomed at the door by Giovanni he had laid out two tables for us so we could choose either indoors or out, we chose indoors as it was now dark. We had four courses with a bottle of house... This mother-son run restaurant is worth the drive up into the Lucchese hills. The converted villa offers delicious food at an excellent price. On a warm evening guests are treated to a meal on their terrace as the lights of Lucca sparkle far below. One of my favorites.

We managed to find this restaurant with less difficulty than we were expecting after a drive up from the valley floor. Slightly challenging road, but not overly so for Tuscany :) MariaAngela effused charm and welcomed us with open arms to her beautiful establishment. The view from the terrace over Lucca is indeed stunning - worth the ride up even... More

Fantastic old place with a wonderful terrace for dinner. Well worth the hairpin bends to drive there. Fantastic food. Shared antipasti, wonderful pasta esp ravioli in ragu sauce, then pork for hubby and I had the amazing carpaccio. Squeezed in a terrific panacotta with fruits of the forest. Coffee, wine. Wonderful price. Delightful waiter/son who wants to develop place. If... More
