We took a day trip to Lucca with no specific plans other than to take in as much of the city as we could. Not having adapted to the Italian eating timetable, we started looking for a place for dinner at about 7:15 p.m., just as it started raining. Da Pasquale was highly-rated and looked welcoming, so we stepped in.... More

This is a great place to eat in Lucca. The owner is very friendly and his passion for good quality really shines through. He likes to try new things, too.... I've eaten there a few times and there's usually something new to taste, or he's changed something slightly to get it just right. Very cozy, exceptional food... recommended!

Second visit here, the first one with his new chef from Napoli [the previous chef was from Sicily]. Menu is half fish and half meat Food is great here. Exc. wine list also. Pasquale, who always gives you a warm welcome, told me proudly that his new chef cooks like his mother [from around Napoli] used to do, and that... More

The new selection of antipasti are delicious. The menu has more fresh fish. This is one of the best restaurants in Lucca. It gives exceptional value for money. I would be surprised if you were disappointed.

Wow!! What a great experience we had!! Gastronomic as well as personal. We met the great Pasquale..very professional, formal, knowledgable man.. We spent more than 3 hours in the cozy place.. I was here on 27th December, entirely by accident, having got lost en route from Pisa and fed up with wandering around picturesque back alleys. Lucca itself is actually charming, though Sig. Gubitosa is even more so. Outside of a Michelin 3-star I would never expect to see a wine list quite like it, full of the highest quality labels... More

On the recommendation of Guesthouse Margherita in Lucca, we had dinner at Da Pasquale. Lucca is mainly known for meat dishes, so we were looking for a place to get fish. The owner of the restaurant is very friendly and speaks fluent English and French and spends a lot of time talking about the items on the menu, helping you... More

This restaurant had been recommended to us by a number of people, so we went , we did however not eat there so cannot comment on the food quality. We were greetted by a gentleman who spoke to us in English, my wife who is learning Italian requested that the conversation be in Italian he seemed pleased with this and... More

We visited Lucca in August / September this year and our meals at Da Pasquale were memorable because of the good food, the excellent wines and the generosity of spirit of Pasquale himself. I have been prompted to write this review as we are booking our restaurants for next May and Da Pasquale will be on our list of must-dos.

The food is good, not exceptional but fair value What its making unforgettable is his owner and the winelist. The winelist is large with a lot of top italien wines as Brunello and Barollo. They are all priced very reasonable. You have also a lot of wines by the glas. The owner is very helpfull, knowledgeable and passioned by wine and oliveoil. Ask... More
