We happened to stumble upon this gem completely by accident. The decor, atmosphere, food and staff were all amazing. The charm of the exposed beams, candles everywhere, bottles of wine (everywhere),rustic furniture, black & white movie projected onto the exterior wall...the list goes on. The portions were good and the quality of the food was excellent! We sat inside, but... More

This was our first night in Lucca (with friends) and this restaurant was recommended by the waitress at our hotel. She was right. Four superb meals with Pigeon Risotto and Steak with a two cheese topping to name two. Accompanied by an Antinori (Pepoli) Chianti, which was also superb. Great busy little restaurant with a good atmosphere, excellent service and... More

Had a lovely meal, simple dishes but well cooked. Great atmosphere and very welcoming. Tables are close together but not a problem. Locals and tourists eat here The waiter explained all the dishes and was very patient. The pros secco was the best I have had.

Really enjoyed our trip here and would recommend to any visitor to Lucca. Run by 3 really cool guys who have an air of knowing what they are doing without appearing to try too hard. The antipasti we're great and the steaks as good as we've had anywhere. Fantastic, buzzy atmosphere, full of locals and all in all the perfect,... More

We arrived somewhat early for an evening meal but we were warmly welcomed and offered our choice of tables . They are very close together but it adds to the atmosphere and makes people talk to each other which can be interesting. The waiter was friendly and polite and described each dish before we ordered. My husband had risotto and... More

We went quite early at 8pm but the restaurant soon filled up with locals. The waiter went through the menu in English and I had a delicious risotto with pigeon, the tastiest dish I had on our trip. Never got the hang of the Italian way of eating with the vegetables we ordered arriving as a separate course after the... More

We had heard so many good reports about this restaurant. The actual experience left us somewhat underwhelmed. The service was extremely slow and un- welcoming. There were three of us and I ordered the Angus fillet steak, what arriived on my plate was an overcooked piece of rump steak. When the order was taken i was not asked how I... More

This was recommended by a resident of Lucca so we assumed it was going to be good despite its rather lowly Tripadviser ranking. We were not disappointed. This is definitely where the locals go, the restaurant was full of them. And I guess they like it because the staff are relaxed and friendly and have a laugh with everyone but... More

Visited Osteria Miranda on a 2-day trip in Lucca and found the food here excellent and the staff efficient and really friendly. Lovely freshly cooked bread to start off with - and from menu selection and the staff obviously proud of their local, seasonal ingredients producing some fabulous dishes - the Wild Boar was amazing - the ravioli with ragu... We went to dinner around 8pm without reservations. The place was fairly empty - we asked to sit outside in what looked like a sizable seating area. We were told that it was reserved and shown to a table indoors. It took quite some time for a waiter to attend to us but eventually we ordered a bottle of wine... More
