I would fly back to Italy and stop in Luca just for their buccellato. My husband and I got one and were going to save half for the train ride back but that didn't happen. Seriously, how could bread with raisins and anise be so addictive. I want one now, and tomorrow, and the day after. Thanks to Trip Advisor... More

Having 16 nights in Lucca, we cycled here each morning from our Anfiteatro apartment (Italian Apartments Collection) to have our coffee and cornetti. Coffee is great and crema cornetti are delicious. It is a little more expensive than some of the other local cafes, but sooooo very fresh and sooooo deliciously good. It is also the home of the famous... More

We tried the buccellato. Kinda expensive for a sweet loaf of bread baked with raisins and aniseeds. Cost E4.50 for 300g the smallest that we can get to try. The bread was kinda hard and dry. There were only 2 staff working, one was busy making coffee and another manning the cash register. The cappuchino was not bad. Locals come... More

Great place to try il buccellato, a typical sweet cake filled with raisins and aniseed, that is only made in Lucca. Recommended.

My husband and I could not stay away from this place!! We came back multiple times to this cafe after trying other recommended spots for our morning cafe and cornetti, but this was, by far, the best. The cappuccino was delicious and HOT which stood it out above the rest. The cornetti a la creme was DELICIOUS!!!! The creme was... More

Waited about ten minutes before order was taken,we had two caffe latte which were lukewarm, two tortes that didn't come with coffee,I had to go in and order them again. The chocolate tasted like it was days old, the apple was just OK. Don't waste you time. There are much better and friendlier coffee shops in Lucca.

Delicious, gourmet, never-tried before fresh pastries in Lucca! An example: almond and sage tartelette... yummy! What more to say? Go! :)))

A smiley lady in fabulous shoes helped us choose some tiny cakes and her willingness to assist us with translations of some of the ingredients made it easier for us to avoid things we didn't like. We had the cakes and coffees (they do decaf if you're looking for it) outside in the bustling piazza. This was a very pleasant... More

This is a good spot to visit for an espresso and one of the many traditional sweets on offer. The 'ugly but beautiful biscuits' made from hazelnuts are delicious.

This is the "old" bakery in town and perfectly located on the backside of Michele Square. It is a beautiful shop with a number of pastries and candies to choose from. I have bought small amounts of things to try but it is quite expensive - 8 euro for a sampling of chocolates. And you can only buy the buccelatto... More
