Worth the expense for a special night - magic!

A little gem that was suggested to us by the owners of the villa we stayed at in Tuscany. A true local fine dining restaurant, expensive but good to sample some of the region's finest dishes. We asked the maitre d' to recommend some dishes to us as the menu was in Italian, but that turned out to be... read more

I don't know if we picked a bad night - but it was a pretty awful experience. Firstly, this is a fish restaurant and it is expensive. The menu is only in Italian and it is complicated (your phrase book will not help) - very difficult to understand unless you are an Italian speaker. The two waiters on duty were... More

Perfect food, excellent service. Special local biodynamic wines not only for experts. Priority home made pasta for my son. I recommend it to everybody who is looking for the secret treasures!

We were pointed in the direction of Vigna Ilaria by Paolo....the owner of Agriturismo Al Podere di Rosa down the road....telling us it was a 'little bit' expensive. It turned out to be a top restaurant, both in terms of food and price. We'd taken what we thought was ample cash with us....but one look at the menu sent me... More

My husband and I had dinner in the courtyard at Locanda Vigna Ilaria whilst also staying at the Inn. The food was incredibly fresh, tasty and interesting. The bread was beautiful, and beef heart starter, seafood pasta and sucking pig were cooked to perfection. We had a fab bottle of local, organic wine recommended to us at only 22€. Overall,... More

This restaurant is not in the main town, but take the time to go there and you will not be disappointed. Attentive, multi lingual staff do everything to make your experience there enjoyable, informed and relaxed. Attention to detail is what made this restaurant stand out for me - from the many lovely places I visited this trip. Seafood is... More

This restaurant about 10 minutes drive outside of Lucca is worth a visit to the city by itself. Locally sourced seafood, prepared to perfection in a variety of ways, great service and a very serene location makes this an extraordinary restaurant. We can recommend following the suggestions by the chef and let him do his magic, take the menu as... More

Host Andrea Massi works hard at making this a destination restaurant and largely succeeds, although he seems a bit over worked as he also operates the del Teatro restaurant in central Lucca. The emphasis is particularly on fresh local fish and produce, but the meat is locally sourced and never frozen as well. Dining outdoors in the courtyard is particularly... More
