Deservedly well known

We followed the recommendations of others, and were not disappointed: great flavours, none of them gimmicky, at very reasonable prices. Lucca is charming, the Piazza dell'Anifteatro and the Cathedral quite special. It is also nice to see that the town pays homage to its first composer of note... read more

Momo, on Via Fillungi, is the one the tourist groups get taken to. But our Italian hosts tipped us to go here instead - there are two in town: our closest was also in Via Fillungi on the corner of Via dell'Anfitheatro. Such intense flavours - peach, melon, coconut. My favourites were pistachio icecream, and the strawberry sorbetto lolly. Such... More

The staff recommended this place and they were right on the money...wonderful gelato! It's probably a little unfair to say it's the best since I didn't try any other gelataria's but this wasn't my first time to Italy and I can tell you, it is definitely one of the best!

Lucca is charming, the Piazza dell'Anifteatro and the Cathedral quite special. It is also nice to see that the town pays homage to its first composer of note, Luigi Boccherini, as well as to a more famous opera composer. Sculptures... More

On our daytrip to Lucca, we had the occaision to stop for gelato around the corner from the place where we rented our bikes, near the main enterance to the city closest to the train station. The gelateria was sparkeling clean and we were able to watch the staff slice up the fresh fruit and take it into the back... More

Wish I could endorse all the great reviews. Unfortunately for me there seemed to be a lot of sugar in this. I enjoyed the pistachio. The coconut lefts wanting a glass of water.

This gelateria had a wide range of the fruit flavours which we prefer. We were able to get 4 flavours in a medium cup. I had melon, blood orange, mandarin and pineapple and my husband had pear, pineapple, coconut and melon. Each flavour was intense and delicious.

Just across from the train station so a good place for a final ice cream before getting back on the train. loads of flavours available, my wife had cherry and was amazed at the number of cherries in her scoop - highly recommended.

My partner and I tried this place out based on the recommendation of our B & B. Very disappointing to say the least. Very limited number of flavours available and the ones that were available were just lacking in flavour as the flavour was just masked by a ton of sugar. My partner and I have had gelato every day... Honestly, I'm afraid you are talking about the wrong gelateria. In fact, I think you thought you were at Gelateria Veneta, but you went somewhere else. I say this because you talk about a very limited number of flavors. Currently (March, April) we have at least 28 flavors and we are in the period in which we make less! Also,... More

We discovered this geletaria on our first day in Lucca. We returned every afternoon for five days. Each of us had our favorite flavor. (I always included a scoop of cherry). As good as it gets.
