Great pizzas, pieces sold by weight, but the real find was cecina, a chickpea pancake, similar to socco - tastes great, and cheap too

We stopped in twice, once towards closing time for some excellent pizza - margherita, with your topping of choice added at the end, and then for lunch, when they were serving their famous ceccina, a large chickpea pancake (not really a pizza) sold by the slice. And the ceccina... I could eat it every day. One of the simplest yet... More

Living in the vicinity of Lucca during summer, I've been coming to Da Felice for years and years now. All locals know they serve the best pizza and focaccine in town. Please note, this is not a restaurant proper but a place where you buy your pizza in slices and pay by the ounce. If you want some specific topping,... More

Our tour guide, Gabriele Calabrese, recommended we try the cecina (chickpea pizza) here as it was what people in Lucca ate before pizza made its way here from Naples. I had a piece of cecina with cheese, yum! Such a different taste than ordinary pizza... the texture was almost like quiche but the cheese on top was nice and crispy.... More

This little hole in the wall had the best pizza my wife and I have ever had. Cooked in a brick oven, it's a thin crust crispy pizza with a great sauce. Line is always out the door for good reason!

We love thin base, minimalist "authentic" Itallian pizza but all four of us thought the capricciosa and margherita we had were pretty average. We had much better in other places. Sorry. Maybe the chef was having a bad night?

Can't recommend this place enough. The pizza was fantastic, really traditional thin crust with generous toppings. Bought by the kg so we paid less than €10 for four big slices of pizza and two glasses of wine. Also tried what we thought was garlic bread but turned out to be some kind of fried egg style pizza which was very... More

After three weeks in Italy eating pizza at least every other day, and sometimes multiple times per day, this is a pizza place we've returned to twice on the same day. It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where they order soup from the rude guy. Have your money ready, expect locals to be able to skip the line, and... More

Shorted us on a slice of pizza and when I told the manager she questioned my honesty and made me pay twice for a piece of pizza. She said "if you don't speak Italian, LEAVE!" Stay away and don't reward such rude service!!!!!!!!!!!!
