Christmas Eve luncheon at Villa Bongi is an experience my family will never forget. Seems redundant to repeatedly say "favorite restaurant in the whole world", but it just continues to be true. Three generations of my family and my boss (and it's important to please such a group, especially on Christmas Eve) are still raving about the food, the wine,... More

We had a great Sunday lunch at this somewhat hidden restaurant - service was exceptional, and the food was to die for! Definitely worth the trip to go up there: We sat on the terrace and enjoyed the views at this culinary heaven. One of the best meals we had so far, absolutely awesome and reasonably prized. We will definitely... More

Really special lunch - fantastic ambiance, very professional and friendly service and excellent cuisine. Highly recommended and worth the drive out of Lucca (just take a sat nav).

I booked a birthday lunch here for my mother and it was a lovely experience. The venue is very pleasant and we sat on the terrace with views over the hills. The service was impeccable and the food very good. Defintely recommended for a peaceful break from the crowds in Lucca.

Great food, wonderful service and a beautiful spot. Hidden away in a Tuscan Villa, the drive over there is already an experience in itself.

We used to go to the first owner's restaurant and it was good. But quality fell sharply when the recession hit and the owner despaired. Now things are looking up a bit and the new owners are highly professional and the cooking superb. You won't find cooking like this in most restaurants in Italy, its unusual but delicious. After a... The new ownership of Villa Bongi restored the establishment to its original state with very warm interior colors, charming and homely ambiance. The view is the probably the best you can have in Lucca as the restaurant is located on the top of a hill so you have a breathtaking panorama from the balcony. The dishes are masterpieces on their... We had one of our best meals at Villa Bongi. It had fantastic views, the service was brilliant and the standard of cuisine was Michelin standard. It was a very pleasurable experience and if we were in the area again we would definitely make sure we visited it. The food is on the expensive side for Italy but the quality... More
