Beautiful location, lot of green. Staff professional and friendly. My friend had a combination of 4 antipasto: baccala & a fried fish are very very good, octopus & another fish just so so. I had a land menu: antipasto is rabbit on mashed potato, very good. Then a pasta with wild boar ragu, good... read more

We set out to find Villa Bongi as a friend had said it was a must. It's a tricky drive into the hills but so worth it The views are stunning from the terrace(although we ate inside as early may not quite warm enough) Matteo who served us was impeccable and the dishes he recommended were fabulous.

We chose Villa Bongi for a birthday celebration with our family. The restaurant is in the hills of Montuolo, about 20 minutes from Lucca. Its remote location makes it a nice, quiet and intimate place to really take the time to enjoy a meal with a beautiful view of the valley and hills. We all chose their 6 course menu... More

Just came back from a trip to Florence and made a special trip to Lucca to visit Vila Bongi. (Long story short, knew the owners from a few years ago). We had the restaurant to ourselves (4 of us) at lunch, since they were reopening that night and told us to stop by for lunch. The restaurant itself is beautiful... More

Christmas Eve luncheon at Villa Bongi is an experience my family will never forget. Seems redundant to repeatedly say "favorite restaurant in the whole world", but it just continues to be true. Three generations of my family and my boss (and it's important to please such a group, especially on Christmas Eve) are still raving about the food, the wine,... More

We had a great Sunday lunch at this somewhat hidden restaurant - service was exceptional, and the food was to die for! Definitely worth the trip to go up there: We sat on the terrace and enjoyed the views at this culinary heaven. One of the best meals we had so far, absolutely awesome and reasonably prized. We will definitely... More

I booked a birthday lunch here for my mother and it was a lovely experience. The venue is very pleasant and we sat on the terrace with views over the hills. The service was impeccable and the food very good. Defintely recommended for a peaceful break from the crowds in Lucca.

Great food, wonderful service and a beautiful spot. Hidden away in a Tuscan Villa, the drive over there is already an experience in itself.
