While the menu already is mouth-watering, watch out for the day's specials - they were what I enjoyed most, and the other guests seemed to agree. Excellent home-made food, friendly and efficient service - a rounded evening. Only downside: a large TV screen in the room - that should be reserved for world cups...

Had lunch here on a very rainy day. Food and service was very good and my 3 yr old granddaughter loved her pasta pomodoro. Prices were average for this type of restaurant in Lucca .The best thing is it is out of the centre and so is mostly Italians eating here so you know the food is good will be... More

I first visited this restaurant 18 years ago, and my return visit wasn't disappointing. The food is delicious, unpretentious & traditional. The service friendly and efficient. Proper simple Tuscan cooking. It was bustling but not crowded on a Monday lunchtime & they were very helpful in suggesting dishes to suit children and vegetarians.

Great service, great food and no crowds. We wandered in three times at 8 o'clock with no reservation and got a table for 4. Mostly locals- few tourists. The food is classic Tuscan. If you like the more offal aspects if the cuisine then you won't be disappointed. The "brick" chicken is very good. Good wine list as well. Moderately... More

Great food in a place and area you wouldn't expect a restaurant. Mid-day lunch. Wonderful meat sauce for pasta!

As far as I heard, this is the best choice in Lucca to try home made and fresh Italian cuisine and it is absolutely true! If you visit Lucca, this place should be placed in your to do list.

Very fresh and great flavors. T- bone steak was amazing. The pastas are all fresh and the sauces are unique to the region.

We (two couples) chose Trattoria da Giulio for dinner on our last night in Lucca. It was actually recommended to us by a woman we met on the train who lived in Montecatini. From our apartment, it was just a 15 minute walk along the wall. A very authentic, family run trattoria. It was not overly crowded for a Friday... More

We stopped for lunch and liked the fact that most patrons were locals and not tourists. The service was prompt and the food was just OK. The two salads we had were good and the spare ribs dish came with tons of olives (which we didn't understand) but overall was excellent. Another pasta dish was just OK. We paid 35... More

We went to the restaurant upon a recommendation from our hotel and were excited about the prospect of eating traditional Italian food from this region. Unfortunately, the food took over an hour to come to our table and of the four meals, three were well overseasoned with salt. Disappointing following our great culinary experiences in Genoa, but on a positive... More
