Description: Antica Locanda Di Sesto is a restaurant located on the right side of the Serchio River,in the outskirts of Lucca. The Building dates back to the 1368, as the marble stone in front of the restaurant says, a period when the local merchants started to build their own country estates, used to relax and chill out in the summer but also to gain business profits. From the XIV Century the village of Sesto was property of the "De Nobili" Family and they had, according to various rumors, 101 farmers working only for them in the village. It is thanks to this powerful family that the "Locanda" was built, and even now you can see the remains of the old building inside the restaurant. *We now offer a free shuttle service from Lucca town centre*

PROS: - Warm, comfy room with welcoming staff (although not everyone is fluent in English - not a game changer, by the way). - Reasonable prices for great quality food. - Big wine selection, although the 6 of us stuck with their local production (good - not great - but reasonable): can't drink too much as it is a long... Anyone in search of authentic Lucchese cooking produced by a family who are passionate about their produce need look no further than Antica Locanda di Sesto. This is a very special Trattoria and from the moment you are welcomed by Rafaella you are given this feeling that you're in for a real treat! From their very own farm, run by... More

I visited this restaurant with 4 friends. We sought out the "Old Inn" because of its very high ratings on tripadvisor. Nonetheless, we were still surprised at the quality of food and our service: it was simply over the moon. We had to cancel our original reservation because our outbound flight from the US was cancelled and we arrived in... More

We were later than we have ever been to go anywhere, ever, and upon frantic, embarrassed arrival we were immediately and warmly greeted by Lamberto, who, as also our server, graciously took care of us for the whole evening. It was a 10 year wedding anniversary and my birthday, and his good care and service made us feel immediately welcomed... More

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. It was dark and I thought "will we find this place" but once we did, we were in for a wonderful experience. Most customers in the restaurant were locals and that always says a lot. We were greeted warmly and our service throughout the meal was excellent. Much of the food is locally... More

We spot this place on trip advisor and we decided to try. We booked because in Italy you may wait for a while before you get a table in such delicious places. Everything was perfect, the waiters, the food and the service once they gave us the menu and i will explain it. The sat us down in a very... More

An excellent restaurant, with a lengthy menu, much of it locally sourced or produced - for example, they make their own olive oil. Food was delicious and filling. Waiters very friendly and spoke English. Ambience excellent. Only disappointment was very limited choice for non meat eaters - only one main course, and two starters. Virtually no fish dishes on offer.... More

Warm greeting was followed by an overall terrific dining experience. Privileged to have eaten in what I would consider a Lucca treasure. I had a Tuscan steak and was excellent while the antipasta was presented well and whetted our appetites. Desserts were excellent too. Best dining experience in Italy.

Even though the addres says ‘Lucca”, this restaurant is a 15 minutes ride out of the historical city (E20 by taxi unless you want to face the narrow streets of Lucca at night after a good dinner). A family restaurant connected to the family farm, it uses many of its own products including wine. It is a pleasant restaurant with... More
