Description: Antica Locanda Di Sesto is a restaurant located on the right side of the Serchio River,in the outskirts of Lucca. The Building dates back to the 1368, as the marble stone in front of the restaurant says, a period when the local merchants started to build their own country estates, used to relax and chill out in the summer but also to gain business profits. From the XIV Century the village of Sesto was property of the "De Nobili" Family and they had, according to various rumors, 101 farmers working only for them in the village. It is thanks to this powerful family that the "Locanda" was built, and even now you can see the remains of the old building inside the restaurant. *We now offer a free shuttle service from Lucca town centre*

This restaurant is beyond incredible. The food is sourced locally and as fresh as any I've tasted. They make their own olive oil and wine, and of course all of the pastas. It is reasonably priced and the family who own it were extraordinarily gracious. We took a day trip from Florence and it was easy, but the highlight of... More

This is about as authentic as a restaurant can. They've been serving food here since the 1300s, and once you have a meal here, you'll know why. Our group of 4 had two dinners here in July, and they ranked among the best we've had in all of Italy. Lamberto and his family are extremely gracious hosts, and made us... More

I'm Italian and from the countryside, we have lots of small delicious trattorie, this one takes the cake, they make their own wine, olive oil and have a vegie patch, the tomato Bruschetta was incredible, the pastas were delicious and the meat tender and juicy, I had the 800g fiorentina steak, I was sad when it was finished! This place... More

We had a superb family lunch for 6 for €190. The restaurant is in the centre of a small village outside Lucca. It's an old tall building, with a fascinating interior. The welcome is very friendly and the service is consistently good. Th food is excellent. Highly recommended.

Well, my sons were right: all other meals would never be as good as this one. Too true! We booked this to celebrate my son's 15th birthday, and Lamberto showed us a very special time, with great attention and then decorated my son's desert plate. All the food we had was the best we have eaten in Italy in this... More

Booked ahead for lunch on a whim as we were travelling from Florence to Pisa. Lovely restaurant with fabulous food and service, all at a reasonable price. Good wine list, too.....they allowed me to part them from their last bottle of Soldera - fabulous!!

This restaurant lies about 8 or 9km outside Lucca, but was well worth the effort in travelling there. The menu revolves around locally sourced produce, much of which is their own production (I can recommend in particular their own extra virgin olive oil, and we also enjoyed their wines), and whilst the dishes seem quite simple upon reading, they have... Even though I don't eat meat (except for chicken breast), I would definitely recommend this 'locally sourced produce' restaurant, which is meat based and much of it from their own farm. The pasta with pear and walnut was delicious, as was the carpaccio of trout. The charming staff couldn't do enough to help, and I will always remember this place,... More

We arrived for Lunch on a Sunday afternoon on our way to Pisa. We had no reservation and the restaurant was very busy. We were graciously offered an outside table and enjoyed a glass of Prosecco while we waited for it to be prepared. This is off the beaten path, but we found a nice mix of tourists and Italians... Although this resteraunt is about 15kms outside of LUCCA the drive or taxi is worth the effort. Great atmosphere at this family run venue. The setting is special and the whole experience is rural Toscana with exceptional food. The quality of the pasts is very special, so thin and tasty. The menu reflects local food and a seperate menu covers... More
