What a find!

We found this place around Lucca with Trip Advisor and decided to eat there. It's not so easy to find, but Waze will help you with a prepaid 4G SIM card ;) The staff was great, and the food AMAZING. I think they are a Michelin-starred restaurant, really traditional place and the price was really good for the quality. We... More

Lucca has many charming and very good restaurants, but the best one of all is Antica Locanda di Sesto. Take a taxi if you don't have a car (the restaurant will call a taxi for your return to Lucca). Not only will you have an absolutely wonderful lunch or dinner, you will have the chance to see the beautiful countryside.... More

First of all, we were welcomed like home. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Dinner was amazing. Starting with entrees and finishing with amazing desserts. Their olive oil was soft and the best we've tasted. Hope to come back next year.

Where to start? The service was fabulous and the food delicious. The bill and coffee came with a white truffle that was as decadent as my meal. If there was cause for complaint it would be that the house wine is drinkable, but mediocre.

You know how you have always heard Italians brag about the famous Florentine Steack and everytime you tried it at the end it always felt as if it was no so special. Well at Antica Locanda di Sesto you have the real thing!! It’s unlike any steak you ever ate, the delicate taste cooked to perfection makes this at my... More

When my fiancée and I decided to travel around Italy, we also decided to only eat local cuisine. Upon entering we were given complimentary prosecco along with a complimentary appetizer. The appetizer was a thick piece of toast baked in olive oil and served with rosemary (doesn't sound like much, but it was delicious). We also ordered our own appetizers... More

The boss and I taxied (thank you Andrea Angeli, Tuscany's best, most efficient taxi driver) from Lucca to conduct exploratory research, prior to the family's arrival for the Holidays. Our two-hour-plus lunch was proof-positive that we'd be returning for a festive dinner with the entire crew. The pasta dishes were superb, the Tuscan (massive) steaks amazing, the desserts lovingly made... More

PROS: - Warm, comfy room with welcoming staff (although not everyone is fluent in English - not a game changer, by the way). - Reasonable prices for great quality food. - Big wine selection, although the 6 of us stuck with their local production (good - not great - but reasonable): can't drink too much as it is a long... Anyone in search of authentic Lucchese cooking produced by a family who are passionate about their produce need look no further than Antica Locanda di Sesto. This is a very special Trattoria and from the moment you are welcomed by Rafaella you are given this feeling that you're in for a real treat! From their very own farm, run by... More
