This restaurant is the real thing! We have been in Italy for WEEKS and have been disappointed time and again. The people here are warm and friendly, and the food is authentic and delicious no matter what you order. The wild boar stew was unbelievable, while the selection of tortellini kept my kids happy. We only have 4 nights left... More

Everything we had to eat was delicious. The kids enjoyed the souffle with honey and the tomato sauce pasta, while we explored more interesting options like nettle risotto. The staff were friendly and helpful.

What an amazing experience it was to get on that #7 Bus and escape the craziness of Florence! Fiesole is a lovely piece of heaven! We had read the reviews for l'Popla on TA and knew we had to go there. We made reservations via e-mail without any difficulty. The restaurant was small but very charming, the staff was friendly... The locals swear by it and after 12 years visiting we do, too. This is the taste of Tuscany- lamb, wild boar, pork, lamb and not creamy, tomato-saucy food though sauces are great. I had 7 Italian friends there recently. They affirmed the fare remained the best at regional fare with even an open hearth affect. We love it!

but I hadn't been there from longtime, as their opening hours often don't match mine. But I wanted to go back there and finally I found the right evening, for my family (they live nearby). Everything was very very good, we where there early, for dinner (they do not give lunch, I think) that is around 7.30, which must be... More

Are you kiding that this place won the Tripadvisor best place on 2013??? I just had dinner overthere and it is a shame... The food is terrible, the service is a joke ( the waiter is always trying to push you the dishes that are forgotten inside the refrigerator and the most expensive wine in the cellery)......after all, you will... We sat at a table where we saw everything that came out of the kitchen. Everything looked so good. Our pasta with wild boar sauce and one of the special appetizers of the day--a soufflé with honey were divine. We were so full but the raspberries in bianco rosso were the perfect way to end the meal.

We ate here twice. Once just the 4 of us and then with 8. The menu is pure Tuscan and they do another daily menu (in English and French) with some lovely dishes on it. No pizzas (some might say "great") but great wild boar stew, beef in wine, roast chicken, ravioli stuffed with meat etc., sufficient veg to make... More

I have been eating here for many years. The first thing I do when I arrive is have dinner there. If you love good regional food this is a local gem. It is owned by locals that go out of their way to please and they love what they do.

Wishing to avoid the crowds in Florence, we stayed in Fiesole, which is an attractive town at the end of the number 7 bus route. We had a couple of pretty fair meals at Reggia with its spectacular views, but ate 5 marvellous dinners at I'Polpo. It is closed for lunch but open seven nights a week. We chose a... More
