Authentic food and atmosphere at this iconic cuisine institution. Amazing Reviews by every travel magazine and newspaper, which you can read on the walls. Experience Tuscany in Florence. Very good food. We had 3 generations dining and the food exceeded all of our expectations at a very good price point. It was mushroom season and we ordered a dish with... More

We went to Perseus after being recommended it as a place for tasting the Bistecca Fiorentina. We knew nothing about the place other than the name when we arrived. When we entered, we immediately saw that the place was about the meat. The meat is freshly displayed in a big cooler when entering the restaurant. We had our mind set... More

We asked the taxi driver to drop us off at a restaurant. He even checked to see if there was availability. This didn't disappoint. My coworkers ordered a steak, another the rice with meat and I had the ravioli. To start they dropped a basket of vegetables - literally. We also ordered melon and prosciutto and tomato and mozzerrela salad.... More

Hands down, the best steak I have ever had. Better than the chi chi and overpriced American steakhouses.

This is a typical tourist trap, with s...ty food and absolutely unfriendly service. And the price does not fit at all. Waiter brought us without a shame crostini, which were wet, pfuui.... Meat was not bad, but nothing special. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!

We loved this place. Full of Italian charm and the best steak ever. Staff were great and informative and the cost wasn't too bad. Had a lovely evening and would definitely recommend it

When you come into this restaurant it feels like you come home and eat, the restaurant looks smaller from outside but once you come in it's really big. The food is good and also the service (the menu is a little confusing it's only in Italian). Also get there at 7:00pm because the place gets a lot of people but... More

This restaurant was recommended by the owner of the b & b where we was staying. We wanted somewhere near that served good local food and that's exactly what we got. Add to that, the price, which with wine was less than €40 for two, fantastic. Well worth a visit if your near the plaza della liberta

If you travel Florence and exploring culture through food, this place is must. It's a man's world! The non-servile jet friendly service reflects Tuscan jovial flamboyancy, the decor authenticity, in parts 'politically incorrect', may be by some, just confirms that. No Michelin hats, they are way pass that, in category of their own! Prepare yourself, especially if you intending to... More

Rude waiter, no English menu, spaghetti 12euro, 1.8kg meat to share $80 for 3 people, 2 sausages 20euro. All tourists were placed inside in seedy area, locals out front. Then you were laughed at by locals as you walked out. Not all table were full or reserved. As we kept an eye out later in the night. Have some respect.... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
