My husband said this was the best restaurant we had gone to while on our honeymoon in Italy. The waiter who seated us in the outdoor covered patio spoke English and was so polite and friendly. I had the roasted chicken dish which was perfectly roasted and seasoned while my husband had the peppercorn steak which he enjoyed. Very peaceful... More

The location is decently closed to the center but it is not easy to find a parking spot so we used a parking garage called Parterre just a 3-min walk away. The ambience is the typical one of an old osteria from Florence so nothing original there (old marble tables, onions, garlics and actual meat cuts hanging of the walls,... More

More importantly from a tourists mouth, Perseus has always been the go-to place for Florentine’s for Bistecca alla Fiorentina, aka Steak Florentine. Which is the famed Tuscan Porterhouse steak, produced from the regions prized cattle, the Chianina breed. Other places in Florence will say they serve it, but it’s not the true beef. It’s like comparing a real Kobe grade... More

Best steak I have ever eaten, not just florentine, steak period. Unlike others, I found the service very nice and the prices very reasonable.

The bisteca is amazing, but the service is horrible. If you want to have a good bisteca and also be mistreated, you can go to this place.

We went there on our local friend's recommendation and what a feast! Visually first as described in other reviews but then the food was fantastic. You have to be a meat lover as this truly is their specialty with the best steak Fiorentina we ever had (and we are big fans)! The spinach and fried vegetables were very good too... More

Great atmosphere and very welcoming staff... We visited on a Friday night... packed solid and not a single tourist is sight.. in fact this was recommended by a Florentine friend....good choice of food and excellent wine list at a reasonable price.. We shared a soup and a pasta dish for starters and a fantastic Bistecca Fiorentina for main course. All... More

Bistecca alla Fiorentina is the meat specialty of Florence. The meat comes from the Chianina cow, an old Etruskan breed of caddle. It needs to be 3 fingers high and grilled to perfection. And they know how. We had a finger licking meal but had to share this almost 2kg piece of meat between 4 people. We had a wonderful... More

By far the best place to eat in Florence if you want to savour local produce and not spend a fortune. We went on two consecutive nights mid week and the place was packed each time with local people, which says a lot about its quality and reputation. The service was excellent too. Also, not a problem for vegetarians as... More

If you are looking for the best steak in Florence and to get away from the tourists that tend to crowd the center (think establishments like Buca Mario) Perseus is your place. We live in Florence and have had the special florentine steak at many places around the city. This is by far the best tasting and seasoned steak we... More
